DNA Lemon Skunk - Only skunk?

Just curious. I'm in week 6 (from the flip) or so of growing my freebie seed. She reeks like a mofo, but only skunk. A really big, smelly skunk.

I just harvested an Ultra Lemon Haze and it was almost too citrus. So I'm familiar with the lemony, citrus taste.

Is it possible to grow a strain like lemon skunk and only get the skunk or just a really disproportionate lean. Compared to a more balanced mix?

I cut a few lower branches and cured the buds for the last two weeks. Didn't expect much, but it's straight fire with no lemon taste whatsoever for only 4 weeks. I like it better then my plant that went 90+ days.

Yes it is possible to get a phenotype that leans more towards one parent, in this case your plant was a skunk leaner, if you grew out more seeds you might find one that is more citrus. I just grew a DNA Golden Lemons (lemon skunk x kosher kush) and mine was more skunky kush than citrus.

You wont know the final smell/taste/etc until it has finished curing.

althor said it best your plant is still maturing. Smells and flavor haven't even fully developed. Harvest then cure buds then judge smell and flavor. You be surprised how strains finish out in the last few weeks

ive grown dna lemon skunk many times over 8 years. regs. back in the day. fems. more recently. ive never had a pheno not taste lemons. some subtle. some real pronounced. some skunky. still, like all plants, even s1 seed, variation is the way of nature. you'd still get plants very very lemon & some skunky. its a skunk cut after all. on top of it all, dna lemon skunk is used by greenhouse seeds. we know super lemon haze is one of their best strains. which would indicate that the lemon skunk cut dna (and GH) uses is a cut that passes the lemon terp profile (recessive dominant trait).

and dudes are right. you cant comment on true flavor until 30 to 45 in the jar.

i just ran a pack of joti lemon skunk.got 3 females from the pack and out of the 3 only 1 smells like citrus/lemon .it smells so good and different from the other 2 phenos.all 3 have shades of purple thru out fan leaves.

Are you sure? I think GHS Lemon Skunk is a different cross. Arjan has denied using Lemon Man's Skunk in their cross. It seems that they've used Citral instead. GHS Lemon Skunk is mostly indica and has a more lemony/less skunky aroma compared to DNA version. Completely different grow in my experience.

Funny thing as I have a Bag seed clone that smells of lemon juice, the smell even makes your jaw tighten up, the color is odd as well and seems to match the smell with some purple starting to develop..

if you believe arjan. they were labeling slh w/ lemon skunk a while. now the lineage is different. and if GH used pck. popular cut in the EU. cause there's no slh male. its a fem cross.

where'd arjan get that chemdawg? that bubba? that afgooy? that trainwreck? gotta wonder.

all those cats, big budda, dna, etc, swap clones. e$kob@r told me so. arjan even tried to trade w/ e$ko when he (esko) was looking for trainwreck. GH wanted his (soma) chemdawg female.

it's not hard to seek out soma and buy cuts either. these guys hold nothing tight. it's about dat $$$.

Wow, thanks for all the replies. Im not sure how, but i was unsubscribed from this post. Although, I didn't recognize lemon or citrus in taste, I certainly can smell it if i touch the buds. So hopefully it comes out with a few more weeks of maturity, then the cure. Thanks again.

Greenhouse doesn't even have the real lemon skunk cut Lemon man who created it even said so he said he passed it to the DNA crew

I know some one who has the original lemon skunk clone I grew it and made a cross with a Cali con Tahoe og x revera privada Skywalker og male

how did e$ko get both soma's cup winning clones (males ! ) of amnesia haze? and g13/haze?

I have golden lemons in flower. While different than the original lemon skunk I really dislike my lemon dominant phenos as they have a weird piney/deep sunny-d type smell. Something I'm personally not fond of..Kind of reminds me of all the dud phenos of Pineapple Express I ran a few years back.

My kosher dominants though..

Without a doubt.... I ran the lemon og when DNA dropped it a few years back and absolutely loved it. My lemon skunk dominant pheno was yellow starburst funk. That's actually the reason I'm running through the golden lemons, I'm looking for that exact pheno tbh. Looking like it might be in one of the kosher dominants, hopefully.

One of my phenos is the tallest plant I've ever grown. It's easily 8 inches past my reflector and JUST got out of week 3. I'd say it's 7 and a half feet tall. I'm just letting it do its thing. Didn't mean to let them get as big as they did but I got super busy with work this year. They got a really long veg and needless to say I'm really happy I took my tent down

Never smelled the lemon part, but it had a hint of citrus in the taste dept.
