What time of Day or Night do you cut down your plants?

i've experienced noticeable increase in bud density & thc levels after leaving my plants 4days in complete darkness before cutting them up.
also saw most of the water is gone from the stalk & main branches.
Tough this might be a bad observation...

I misread. I thought you said you didn't notice any and was agreeing.

You "did" notice a difference. I've never let mine sit that long.

Just the regular chop before lights on. I've heard others say to leave in dark for 24-72 hours before chop. The reason I haven't is because of smell. I could only imagine how much more they smell.

Ive never tried s dark period but the science doesn't back it. Again I'm sure science doesn't back a few things that actually work. It would be interesting to see if someone has done a side by.

Harvesting right before the lights come on will reduce leaf starch. Harvesting right when the lights turn off will mean maximizing leaf starch.

I'm not saying this will make or break a cure, but any reduction in starch improves the cure. Leaf starch takes exactly one normal night length to be fully used.

I came across this unintentionally ...
The plant in question had suffered from too low PH and was yellowed out 3 weeks before harvest. Only the budsite leaves remained green. I saw that my buds were very airy and trichomes were not as high as my first grow...
So i kinda didn't care about it and just left it in the dark before i would turn it to hasj. When i finally had the courage to do the hasj process i saw that the buds were filled up more and they looked realy frosty. Sad thing is i don't have Before and after pics :'( good thing is that it turned out to be my best harvest so far. smooth smoke, nice high, excellent taste.

but again, i could be wrong in my observation. I'll have it tested with my next harvest coming up in about 2 months. i'll get some b4 and after pics and see if it's realy as significant as i think it is.

WOW! Some myth in here. Some interesting idea's and some science too BUT,,,,No one listed the important science even listed in Rosenthal's and others writings on harvesting.

The THC levels in the plant are at their peak just before lights on! The earlier you chop the better as it slips as the day goes on...
This has been studied rather carefully...

Now then. I must say that "extended" periods of lights out. Do nothing for the the THC levels or for "bud density".
If these things WERE true. It would be written about and papers would expound the virtues of it......So it's a MYTH..

This is what i've read also, multiple times...
so i might just have cut off my lights to early ? maybe she was just in the latest stage of growing out her buds just in the same time as i left it in the dark? i hvae no clue, it's so sad tough that i don't have any pictures :'(

Legal situation any time
Illegal situation night after 9pm work through the night to make sure ya pretty much done before people are up and about, like postman ext .I'm all ways on a timeframe where once my crops have come down,my next set are ready to be flowered, and next set of clones go into vegging unit.Don't agree with what someone told you about the taste or smoothness of the smoke because you took them down say at 4pm.I know out door growers that do things at certain moon phases ,but I don't go on owt like that,I just go on when is the best time of not getting a crop seized by the dutty stinking Babylon.

Jha bless peace

That was my point. Also higher terpene levels. I have let the lights come on for a couple hours with real stinky plants just to tame the smell a little.
