Good info in that first one, still going thru it.. so the .5 off trick with lights.. would that be a fluorescent thing only since hps takes like 5 minutes to warm up?

Only needed if seeing the signs of mid day depression, but should work with any light

you should adjust your lights for proper plant response

I run with a .5 dark period mid day also.

As for the distance the light is from the plants I use the back of my hand as a gauge. If I can feel the heat from the HPS on my hand it is too warm for the plants. My room hits anywhere between 82 and 92 degrees during lights on depending on the temps outside. As long as I can't feel the heat on my hand my plants do pretty good. If I can feel the heat the edges of the leafs will curl up.

I use 4 foot florescent lights for veg and the plants can grow around the bulbs with no ill effects.

Now now,,,, we mustn't get agitated, unless your wife left with your car keys, your out of Fosters, and your an alcoholic, and you have to walk 1/2 a mile to the package store in a snow storm, which I did this morning, and is the reason this post is going on for sooo long. Anyway, back to the point, don't kill your other plants, and RM3, you sound like you got your shit dialed in, excellent!.

And run as much fan air as you can though the canopy as you can, that is extremely important.

Yes, very much so. I have a 20" pedestal fan mounted to the ceiling and a 20" wind tunnel on the floor. Total air movement

Yes, you ALWAYS need moving air, gently is fine, but air flow through your plant is fucking imperative, for insect control, as molds and fungus gnats, and mites love stale air.

Like above said, Yes! It makes the plants stronger along with preventing powdery mildew.

So, I have air from the house going in to the room, and it's around 70 degrees in the house.. how can I cool the room further with little cost?
