I've had an old jar of seeds from the 70's with Acapulco gold, Panama red, michmecan, and others I can't remember. I've tried to crack a few before with the sandpaper scratching technique and soaking them too but I can't get them to open up. I guess I just hang on to them for sentimental reasons and they do bring back good memories. I'm 57 by the way and still LOVE growing my own medicine, God bless us one and all!

-A Silver Pearl Pheno that has been kept for 15 years
-A Monkey Paw Pheno from seeds my dad brought back from vietnam in the 60's
-Working on trading for a cut off the orginal Deathstar from Ohio ( not old but god damn is it good / take 16 + weeks to flower

I know those strains quite well, but if you are collecting Ohio strains you got to pick up an og meigs county gold, my uncle supposedly has one on his farm, hope to find out soon!

How old does it have to be before it's old school? My Sidetracked: strain was started in 1988 when my BIL crossed Northern Lights and Afghani Skunk.

I grew some one hit Thai stick back in the late 70's. Only had one plant make it though, so no seeds. I had got those seeds from my speech teacher in high school, so that was really old school.

Never heard of Strawberry Hill herb, but I sure as shit remember Straw Berry Hill wine. That and Tango were a mainstay of me boneing in the parks, with some Columbian Gold, listening to the Allman Bros and the Stooges.

all of my champion genetics was passed down to me by a softly spoken Chinese rastafarian gentleman, dreads 6ft long down to the floor and evil looking eyes like lee van cleef

i met him by chance in a dimly lit coffee shop after a pink Floyd concert in da 1980s
suffice to say the rest is history

Michmecan was the only herb I ever hallucinated off of. That was the best damned herb I ever smoked, ever. The bud I broke up (1971) was 7" long, and shaped like a scimitar, and boy, that was some fine smoke. I would almost blow (or definitely let my wife) someone for a seed of that shit. God damn, we did have some fine herb in the early 70's.

Qualifications:

First toke 1979.
Started smoking regularly 1980 (gold seal black, thai stick, "BC hydro", mostly...and the odd bit of legit Columbian Gold)
Invented the "zixxer" 1981
In the "business" since 1982
Started growing 2010

Or do i have to wait until next month when turn the big Five Oh? Lol

can't you just put them all in water see which will float/sink out of the bunch
then you can germinate less randomly with better chance of success
i have heard of 20 year old seeds germinating worth a try
