So I tried to transplant.

I went to take one of my 6 babies out of the solo cups and put it into a half way house container till i can sex them. The soil was too dry and when i pulled the cup off i broke a piece of one of the roots. The root mass still looked fine. I hope it'll make a recovery.

Pictures are in my journal.

Since i watered yesterday, the dirt will be too wet. I'm thinking if i carefully use a razor to cut the bottom off the solo cup and then slice down the side, i can just drop the cup in, fill around it and then pull the cup out. I'm just scared I'm going to hurt the root system.

Any ideas on fool proof soil solo cup transfers?

You pretty much nailed it.

I just slap em around a little flip them upside down with the stem between my middle and ring then throw them in damp dirt..then water to settle everything and walk away

The plant will be fine. Transplanting cannabis is not a delicate operation.

Just moved mine from 1qt pots up to 2gal last week and since I was a little late, the roots were tangled in the bottom half-inch of the pots. I just pulled the tangle right off to expose the soil, loosened the rest of the ball, and planted them. Within 48 hours they were showing growth again.

Next time start them in those containers, and by the time you have to transplant they'll be good and strong and you'll have less to worry about.

After I filled in the dirt around and tamped it lightly i watered each one with a dab of superthrive. I figure next week when they dry out Ill start throw a little seaweed extract into the water, and then the week following I'll start a very very light micro feed.

Too early to transplant, let the seedling root out the solo cup and that way you can just flip it over and the roots and soil will come out all together.
