Hey rollers I'm fixing to chop some tomorrow and was needing tips to slow my drying down. I tried leaving leaves on a couple days and misting the air if humidity dropped below 40% ->~55%(removing buds b4 spraying derp) I also tried last time to put bags on the hangers to lessen air flow the last 2 of the 3 days. I wonder if I could tie paper bags on em when they get dry on the outside (few hrs at a time?) As a transition into curing with the jars? I also leave a lot on the stem the first day or 2 of curing before destemming. I did pretty well last time just think it drying too quick lost some flavor and potentcy

If you have access to a humidifier, that could do the trick.
Yes. I have to use a humidifier 24/7 when drying and leave everything on them. I plug my exhaust fan into my Titan humidity controler and set it to 70%. If the humidity rises above, the fan kicks on. Totally worth it. That slow dry is key to flavor and smell

You dry at 70%RH?! what about mould i thought it shouldnt go above 60% tops, I dont think a humidifier in my perpetual flower tent is a good idea? Idk an 11 day dry sounds awesome though

What if rh was 30-40% the few days before chopping than yesterday I chopped with the rh at 60-70% and is 71% now- practically the entire house because im keeping windows open and the winds are coming in from the lake, seems like they're wayy smellier this time around with high humidity :bigjoint:

I regularly dry at 70-80%rh.. and ya, 10-14 days usually to dry. Have had big buds take 3 weeks.. i also have a good bit of airflow.. maybe 500-700 cfm through the area.. not a single fan rated at that to be clear

If you are at risk of mold, ie your grow area has a lot of spores (which are everywhere really) and you have a sensitive strain you could be at higher risk of bud rot etc. Especially if you get mold in flower.
Ive never had problems stemming from this environment

I only got mold in 2 small jars because I didn't burp enough or take them out of the jar when they were moist, last few times I'd take the buds hanging out and spray water to raise the humidity and had no mold issues, it's raining on day 2 so that sloww dry should be smooth sailing without direct water in the vicinity, ima chop some more today and trim up some hairy ones
