I called them and it's 5.49 a 40# bag just fyi to everyone and they have it bagged already. I asked if they would have a lot by this weekend and he said no problem, it's already ready to go

You'll love the stuff though man, they got quite a few different local things there too you should check out. I've had great results with the mushroom compost they sell as well. And theyve got good deals on perlite, peat moss, and vermiculite as well.

Where abouts you located at? Wouldn't mind networking sometime. We both seem to be growing the same way, I have bought just about every organic nute there is and still do so if we could ever help eachother out, I'd be down!

I'm from South Lansing. I've gone through the catalog of nutes as well! I've been growing for six years and the last two I've been growing for a few others as well (they've got property and licenses but no free time). So I've gotten to experiment with quite a few different fertilization methods! I've got one grow I did with nothing but reused garden soil and fresh compost mixed together. And then every other watering I'd use Molasses, Jamaican Bat Guano, and fish emulsion. And then my personal garden I throw in a little bit of everything under the sun.
I don't have all the scientific answers, but I've done everything from the cheapest grow to the most expensive (as far as soil and fertilizers are concerned, I've never gone cheap on lights), so I can offer some good field research with my thoughts lol.

Yeah we're surrounded on all sides by farm towns so quality agriculture supplies are abound! I feel bad for the growers in Flint! I know the news talks about all those kids with lead poisoning but I keep thinking about all that poor bud!

I'm the same, been growing now for about 6 or 7 years and did hydro for awhile...migrated to supersoil....then TLO...now ROLS No til and I have to say the journey has been a bit bumpy. Started w shit genetics and was always scratching my head. Once I got some clone only strains, that's when my eyes opened. I was trying to make shit bud good and you just can't perfume a pig, ya know what I mean.
I'll be heading out that way Monday if the snow doesn't accumulate much. I'll report back as to what I find out. I'll snap some pics of any leaflets they may have and post them along w some prices depending on how much time I have to browse.
Finally getting my hands on quality compost after years of looking around. Yea I know I can make it but I tried and failed honestly. I posted another thread on it called what's going on with my compost or something of that nature. Check it out and see what light maybe you guys can shed on it.
Basically was trying to use just about every scrap from my garden. Never tried just like straight grass and leaves type of compost...anyways high and ranting. Later!

Aw man its supposed to snow this weekend?!
I feel you on the compost, I want to do my own but I've got limited yard space and I don't want to take up too much of my dogs play area and my veggie garden space. I've got worm bins set up in my basement now though but those castings aren't coming for a little bit. Greasemonkey has a really good compost thread if you haven't checked it out yet

Yea I checked his out, good stuff for sure! I'm in the same boat, veggie garden is already taking up a lot of space and I have 3 dogs so I know what you mean.
I just set up my worm factory and got 2 lbs of worms from northwest redworms. Crazy how many worms 2 lbs are. So I'm letting them work their first layer which is getting close to done after only 2 or 3 weeks. I'm going to take worms out the second layer and add them to my compost I'm starting in a 45 gallon smart pot. Hopefully I'll be able to get tons of worms to breed and will be able to add them to my compost. Not a lot but just some to get the breeding going in my yard (hopefully). That way I may be able to just pluck them out the ground if needed one day.
Not necessarily my goal, it's really about getting both those worm bins going for castings and then getting my compost for all my veggie scraps going and then I'll be able to run that compost through the worm bind. That's more my goal, anything else is just a plus!

@Rasta Roy I went today to hammond farms and bought a truck load. BUT I left you some! I bought:
20- 40# bags of closed loop compost @5.00$ ea
10- 25# (I'm guessing 25# )mushroom compost @ 3.89 ea
Big bag of perlite @ 20$ ( much larger than hydro store bag)
Bale of straw @ 5.00 ea
Total was $176 and some change.
Cost from around 57 miles away in a truck. About 20 in gas.
