Tell me what to buy?

Just purchased an Apollo 5 x 5 x 6.5ft tent for my basement in the bay area. So many different options for everything else, what is the best set us for this scenario?
Going for quality over quantity

I think gogreenleds has a deal going on for 4 of their 200w units that would bump in a 5x5'. It would be like a 1,000 DE in there but with way less heat. You'd get real nice even coverage that way too.

Exactly what i am using, a lot of light, no heat!

and three times the price....@JcV777 just go HPS or CDM unless you are ready to dive in for a few years....:peace:

Thanks for the advice. I am diving in head first and plan on never looking back. Want to do it right. What do you prefer?

Honestly I am in the build it yourself category.....and I would urge you to read SupraSpl threads, 1st, before coming to any conclusions...if this is the direction you go...

I prefer and insist on Cree CXA/CXB and Bridgelux Vero diodes along with Meanwell drivers and like 600-1000ppfd over every sq. inch of canopy space...

Pre Built units are fine, but I do prefer DIY, to be able to upgrade over time....and I have never looked back either :)

I won't recommend a specific company, but the banner ads display most of the good ones.

Just wondering if other people have tried tasty Led line of lights which use the 3590's or the Amere line of LEzd grow lights. Anyone want to share their personal experiences with them? I've heard from others that they are both really good.

In an 8x5 you'd probably want two of the 4 packs for even coverage. It's more costly up front but with no bulb purchases every cycle, less heat to vent out, and less electric, the upfront cost quickly becomes a saving. If your using active intake and exhaust you won't need an ac unit in there. Especially if you run your op year round. It should also be noted that if you ever wanted try a 3590 unit, on the gogreen units you can swap out the chips pretty easily, and that can give you a primer on DIY. In an 8x4 with 8 -200w cobs, and proper training, I think it's safe to say you'll be pulling minimum 3#'s, with co2 4-4.5# easy. I have 2 of their 300w units in a 4x4 and buds need tied up in week 3 of flower.

Extremely helpful thank you so much. Ordered 4 of the gogreen 200w. Woman requested I start with those and complete a successful grow. Going to oblige. Have a feeling through the knowledge learned here I will go the DIY route quick and want to leave myself some flexibility in some decisions. Thanks again everyone for the help.

GoGreen ripped off the designs of several builders here imho....they get hot, spread wasn't all that thought out and cost more than comparable fixtures by real cannabis growers...just saying....Not bad but not the best either.

What is a comparable fixture by a real grower? Can cancel or return. A buddy said I should of just got a 1200 watt spyder. Are those the best? If there's a better option I am all for it. I just don't think I have the experience to build my own custom led.
