good luck eradicating them .in veg or at beginning of flower i use florimite.
Thank you! Dedicating the day to spider-mites tom. Fuckers!!!
Florimite a wash or an oil? I found washes/lil bottle bought at the grow-store do the trick in one shot whereas oils/QA have to be done again 4 days later. But I only use the wash/? in veg.
So, I kept the temps as low as they go to prevent the spread but those fuckers get around fine. Thought about wasting co2 during lights out but I tried that along time ago. Only slows em down a lil.
Have to Apocolypse. I'm confident we're not smoking that much neem oil as its a very low risidual on the bud due to trichs(plant protectors) & only on the surface. Honestly theres really no differance. Anyways, at least we all see how the lights work-out as the only downside is all the buds collapse & it's not such a pretty mess anymore. It doesn't clog the stamata.

i have floramite in the arsenal as the nuclear option but have never used it. its systemic and is along the lines of an eagle 20 in toxicity down the line. i would use it as early as possible in veg, using right up against 50-70 days in flower is prob borderline in it carrying into final product

theres a reason for that. most are specific miticides not ovicides (which kill eggs). any "wash" you are using that has efficacy 4 days later is prob systemic in nature which again has implications on final product quality depending on timing

the reason you dip with oils 4 days later is azamax/neem is EXTREMELY effective against live mites but zero effective against eggs. so you dip in 4 days to ge tthe newly hatched mites. 3X at 4 day intevals with generally clean conditions kills them ALL whikch is what you need to do.

with the mendo super mites anything less than 3 dips 4 days apart and you get isolated outbreaks in flowering.

mites are asexual and if one survives it will make 1000s unchecked

yeah i always take those with a grain of salt when they say avid/floramite/eagle 20 breaks down in xx days

many times they mean 'is effective for xx days' and there is still residue.

id never use any of that stuff in even early flowering, but ymmv.

those products are awesome for starting fresh and dipping lil clones you'll grow out for weeks before flowering

wheres some more kewl pics?
Kind've a mess in there from when I had to de-mite. Had to lean everything on the vertical trellis on both sides. So I'll straighten it out n get some pics tom. Coming to a close on this run soon. Can't wait to start the next grow w/ the SC. This was just getting to know it. From here on out I'm going to do real well & have fun doing it with the Cloak! image.jpgAll buds are solid. Very high in terps & trichs.
Now I've got the magic T-5 spectrum for veg I can probobly keep these Glues tight in the future. image.jpgThis combination of bulbs Vegs 5x better then my 600 watt Ushio MH. I'll never use MH to veg again aside from the 2 weeks they get it in the flower room prior to switch. And those are Hotri Daylight Blues so that's a bit different. This T-5 gave me huge stocky bushes while the Ushio MH gave me tall lanky garbage plants like I had here prior to this. Even the roots were 5x more. You can tell if you have the right veg spectrum when you've accomplished both mega healthy, stocky, close internodal, thick stalks & crazy roots all in one. I'll post the differance tom.
Light spectrum does more for your plants then most people will ever know.

wny dont you throw a vertical net right down the middle and train them on that? i bet that would rage
Yeah, that would be dope. I plan on doing something similiar with more trellis next run. Thinking verticals like I have now in conjunction w/ a regular horizontal scrog. Also, I'll be placing the Cloak off the rooms walls so I can access it from all 4 sides. Originally planned on big white plastic Shower curtains on rods suspended. Yup, it's going to be fun!

This is the veg differance between the T-5 select spectra & the Ushio 600 MH. not only are the plants way better, so are the roots. I'll never be using the MH again for the main veg. MH: 6 plants vegged in a 4.5'x7' area below=image.jpgimage.jpg They were 5' tall before I opened them up yesterday. Everything just got transplanted & taken out of the veg rooms yesterday. These are sparse, lanky, bare, little roots.
T-5 select spectra: vegged 6 plants in a 5'x3' area below=image.jpgimage.jpg Huge differance. Wish I took pics of the roots. They're packed w/ thick white roots. Never been better.
My plants get topped n left alone for 2 months pretty much. Then I get them in this room, open em up n veg for another 1-2 weeks. All 12 plants in the above pictures have been begged for 2.5 months already. 2 -3 weeks behind schedule at the moment.
So, now I'm pretty sure I can control my plants allot better & won't need that Mills Vitalize or Aptus to keep my plants stocky. Sure, they'll get some once n awhile but I won't be depending on that shit anymore. It's so expensive. Any cut cost is a good one if its not necessary.

what are we lookin at for T5 spectra in the bulbs above?
image.jpg Spectra from back to front:
-67k CoraLife Daylight (more yellow & red then normal 64k) to be switched to 10k.
-Color-Max CoraLife
-Ultra Growth Wave (ultra Cola) WavePoint
-64k regular
-64k regular
-UGW
-C-M
-10k
That's my magical secret sauce. No secrets here.
I advise against using the Blue Actinic as the plants hate it. They'd much rather get their blues from a white bulb 5k n up. The white is important.
Also plenty of blue in the Color-Max, & Ultra Growth Wave.
All 6 are busty bueties under only 1 T-5.
Very excited to have found this perfect spectrum. The leaves are 4x thicker w/ deep lines & rigidity. Wonderful I tell you just wonderful.
Thought my only option was going to be buying a LED veg light to get it right. Probobly still going to get one but not sure cuz I now will be using my Hydroponics Hut Pro-Grow X5-500 for veg too as the Amare & SunCloak put it to shame in flower & it does excellent in veg for the 10 days I got to use it.
Those Ultra Growth Waves are awesome when mixed w/ white. Not the best on their own though. I use 1 in my 4 bulb T-5 side lighting in the HPS room.

Below picture is the same strain cloned from the same plant. Same feed & veg time.

I see another SunCloak in my near future. Thinking the 32" tall, 12" on center one? I enjoy many different grow styles & think that would suit me for training, weeving, & flowering my Indica dominant plants & have the 4' tall, 16 on center for tall sativas.
But yeah, I'm pretty darn happy w/ my Cloak. Might've been a sloppy run, things went wrong for me & didn't have the time to tend it properly, but now I know what my light is capable & Im so looking forward to future runs w/ it. Still have yet to harvest do I won't get to ahead of myself here.
Sky's the limit w/ the Cloak though.

I was curious how the Ushio 600MH performed. Thanks for the info on that.
I know inda-gro 420 veg's very well.
And also Hortilux 600W Blue MH is making some of the beefiest plants I have had
This is Hortilux 600 Blue grown with the lamp hung vertically (Lamp is rated for horizontal but I wanted to try it anyways)

Those are sweet! Big healthy leaves. The Horti-Blue works great, I agree. Ushio one isn't what I thought was. Been using that brand for a year but no longer. Funny you said that, Actually was only using it cuz it's rated for vertical & horizontal use. I use a parebic hood that only takes a vertical so I used the Ushio. Building a new big veg room now.
Is the Inda-Grow the induction lamp? I always wondered about them. Like that they're made to grow close w/ uniform intensity. Any pics using it!

how many days are you letting the glue go for?how old are the glue in todays pics?
They are 8 1/2 weeks today. Last time I started to take them down just after 9 weeks & into 10. Everything is finishing up early under the LED though.
Leaves aren't fading & I think it may be from my mixing the medium a bit rich in soil. If it's to rich then the leaves stay green to the end. I don't prefer to have it that way.

Yes, Inda-Gro is induction, there is a link in my sig with lots of pics.
I inquired with Hortilux about using the 1000W Blue MH vertically and was told it is safe and ok to do but performance will suffer slightly. So I am operation on the assumption that the same applies to the 600W Blue (which is also open fixture rated BTW)
I am burning it with a Galaxy Grow amp Select A Watt 902220 and couldn't be happier so far
I am giving the vertical approach a go and thus why I am playing around with these lamps outside of a proper reflector.
Started a post over in the Vert section where I'll post my progress as I get rolling

Cool! I'll stop by. Thinking about going in the very section w/ the Cloak next time cuz I'll be working the plants into a trellis in the light. I know I can do so much better then this w/ some properly vegged plants & my attention.
Is this your first time growing vert? I like your set-up. Do you just transfer lids w/ the plant in it? What's that called, that grow style? A hydro but there's so many I forgot.
Heard the plants grow faster & you get a bigger Yeild?! Good luck bud!

You got it! My plan is to lift the 10gal lid with the plant and trellis attached and wrestle it into my flower box/room where an identical system will be set up.
I plan to have 4 of these bad boys in play at all times, staggered about 4 weeks apart so they can be harvested 2 at a time.
This is my first time going vert. I think I am going to like it a lot because the main problem I was having before was keeping a batch of vegging plants from getting too tall before it was time to flip. Couldn't just keep topping with the number of plants I was running or they would get too bushed out and overcrowded.
My system is my own RDWC concoction. I have been playing with hydro for a long time and just like tinkering with shit.
If you put a soil plant next to a hydro plant for 1 month veg you would be blown away!

The Sun Cloak really catches my eye and I am wondering if it would mate well with a system like this for growing things other than herb?
