Nice.......................thanks for the insight, I was fixed on completely decomposing it for some reason????????........fuck me, I was completely disregarding it's quality as a beneficial soil additive in it's own right.

and dandelions?????? Hahaha................1st spring flowers just coming through on this un-tended, un-treated patch of local council property, from what can remember I think I've got about a month of growth and flowering to take as much as I can use before the other weeds start to take over and this is a small cross section of the full field.20160419_173308.jpg

This is also one of the few comfrey plants I've got, which were established last year and I should be able to harvest from this year.

I found a couple of plants near an allotment last year and made roughly 15 root divisions, planting them in various places, all of them grew, but most of them got eaten..............everything likes the nutritional content of comfrey, this one is the best I've got because it's mostly protected.

The other bonus I've got is illustrated here, this is a pavement near my house, there's dandelion, nettle and goose-grass growing out of the sidings.20160418_174958.jpg
This is very typical of any untended area around here, there's not been money for weed killers for a long time...........and most of them are being banned here now..............lets hope they get on to round up next. I can get SHIT LOADS of stinging nettles.

Think I'll go with the 2:1 ratio and add some meals and rockdust

damn dude, you have all the ingredients for a good French gardening/veganic grow
the comfrey I have grows so fast you can literally cut and snip the leaves once they are full size, it acts sorta like roses in that the more ya prune them the more they grow.
And get em before they flower, evidently they have the highest amount of nutrients before they flower
uhh... I guess the quote thingy isn't workin

Gotta admit, we've probably got every beneficial weed going, growing around here, but I put it down to the climate. Let's just say it rains a lot here and we don't get a lot of full sunny days.....so the only plants that really thrive are weeds(mainly stinging nettles) and brambles, blackberries are every where you look come autumn.

Worm bin is doing well and the castings are looking great! Enlarged the holes on the bottom during the re do and some of the castings are falling through the holes. It looks really good. I use that to scrape up the babies that don't know where to go and drop them back into the bin.

Also, I recently found out I could get an extra recycle bin from the city. Called this morning and scheduled a drop off for trash day next week. Also found out the city will be having a compost and mulch giveaway next Saturday. Have to see how much I can get when I go over. Will have to make multiple trips if allowed, as I can't get much in the 02. Wife will be at work so I can't use the suv. Will take the spare out of the 02 and get as much as I can.

Guess it pays to read the flyers that come with the utility bill sometimes, I learned something new!

Nice! Just checked Denver and it's a sale but $3.75 for 1.25 cu ft which is pretty solid! Hopefully it's good quality, I'll pick up a few bags regardless.
