Ive grown it before like a few years back...i can easily get seeds since im still residing here. Its what some folks called ancient seeds from mountain regions, i couldnt really say publicly what country. Anywho ive got a mid size zippy full of seeds, im no good breeder but if any1 can do a strain hunt, id like to have 1

Fuck yeah dude, I'd love to do some hunting and crossing with those! More than happy to let you choose what you want to cross it with too :)

I actually heard about that recently their is genetic drift in some clones really makes you wonder like Shantibaba claiming to have parents well over 15 years old now but are the parents still the same after all these years? Probably not exactly, still had nice results though IMO but the same? I don't know I didn't buy seeds that long ago most say it's different that claim to have grown them way back.

Yea that's true those long year living plants like that do have that and some loss of vigor but that's when they need to get the plant out in the sun and lots of that will be restored.

Yeah, Shantibaba mentioned that sunlight will bring the vigour back. But if it has genetic drift is it really going to revert back to the same genetics?

I have no idea I just barely read about it a few months ago. Can't be too much of a drift though cause red delicious apples seem about the same everywhere I seen them.

What mo is talking about is more adaptation to a different environment by a strain. And it actually happens with most photosynthetic organisms when you change their light intensity, spectrum, outside temps, root temps, co2/o2 levels, etc. so if I gave you a cut from my room right now, it will look different when you grow it than it did here.

Shanti might actually have genetic drift after 15 years.

Lmao I got genetic drifrt myself after 15 years or is it 7 yrs anyway if you have the original mother plant I couldn't see any drift in it , maybe a loss of vigor because it's not genetically coded to live 15 yrs....now on the other hand if you take a cut from a cut from a cut from another cut so on and so forth maybe you could get some kinda genetic drift but I think it'd be due to in part as K...33 says , the surrounding environment that it's grown in .
