Metal halide vs high pressure sodium

I have a 600 watt digital ballast, I am currently vegging a few plants, I have a metal halide light that gives off 75,000 lumens, and I know MH bulb has a good spectrum for vegging. But my high pressure sodium gives off 95,000 lumens. That's quite a few more lumens! So which one would really be better for vegging?

Lumens aside, the color spectrum of MH is better for veg than the color spectrum of a HPS.

MH is great for flowering too if your all about quality over quantity.

Using a H.P. in veg, the only real difference you'll notice is a taller plant..........not much else or at least worth mentioning.

What benefits does MH have over HPS during flowering? I was under the impression the red spectrum from the HPS is what will fatten your buds up and make them potent.

In my experience MH is good for vegging if you want to keep your plants short and squat, the internodal spacing seems to be shorter with MH. An HPS though can be used for the entirety of the grow and you won't suffer at all.

Seems to produce more oils and trichs as well as slightly better terpenes. You will sacrifice weight tho

I have recently found that a halide-spectrum seems to affect the cannabinoid/terpene profiles to one's advantage. I'm harvesting a little here and there from my perpetual 12/12 from seed halide-grow and the potency is superior as compared to the usual hps-harvests. Like someone else mentioned, Lumens aren't everything. PAR (photosynthetic active radiation) seems to play a big role here. Long ago I read about this in an old High Times mag. Interesting article, and my current findings are "on-par" with that research. Personally I would always trade yield for increased potency, but I realize everyone else may not. This is just my experience regarding the whole issue -

You use your MH at the last 7-14 days of flower to boost trich production.

MH has UV vs HPS doesn't have any UV.

The UV helps with the production of trichs, I use a 10k bulb (it's has a lot of UV) on my finishing weeks and I do notice a difference in potency and frostiness.

But no I don't flush nor do darkness in the end.

I have a cool tube, as it is encased with a glass tube how much UV will I be losing or better to use different hood without glass ?

I run two hps 1000w and 1 MH 1000w in between. The hps are air cooled, the MH is in a open parabolic hood. I run them in a 5×10 tent, and the buds are resin monsters,lol.
Much better than when I ran 3 hps.

I have an air cool hood myself, I take my glass off when I run the 10k bulb due to the glass is not "low E", which blocks most of the UV.
