Vero COB LED Causing Light Stress

I am seeing signs of light stress on my plant as soon as I put her under my my grow light at about 2 ft away from canopy. I tried using 200W of led but that caused burning necrosis, fading and curling then I disabled two drivers and ran the light at 100W. She has recovered alot since then (about two weeks) but I don't see any fast growth Its been growing really slow but it hasn't been having burns just signs of stress like slight fading in the leaves and a little droopiness. I am wondering if the 3500k Vero 18 cobs have too much UV light causing this or if this plant is just weak and sensitive to the light. BTW I had used CFLs during the seedling/early veg stage. Had any of you had any experiences with problems caused by the high Intensity cob lights and if so how did you fix it? Thanks and any feedback would be appreciated.

medium?
are you experiencing deficiencies besides from the light?
strain?

Dyna Gro at 500ppm and calmag at 200ppm in coco/perlite mix.
I was getting fast growth under the cfl and all was good until I used the leds but besides that i don't think I have any deficiencies.
The strain is Cherry Bomb by Bomb Seeds

I have noticed the plant seems to have adapted to the light and started green growth but the growth is slow compared to CFL witch is odd also I don't want to wait till the plant is ready to flower before using this light because im afraid it will stunt it from "light stress" and fuck my yield up. My temperature is about 80 and the humidity is 45-50%.

i have the same ones right now, i used them for the entire cycle and they do cause stress as you say. keep them a little higher, i think part of my problem is the power supply it pushing a close to 240 watts and these lights seem to fluctuate a lot in voltage (visble flicker, and yes the VOLTAGE changes, I have an inline meter to verify this), i have 4 in parallel. not sure if that matters but they made 2 of my pure females hermi at the bottom. i took them out and put those in the sun and they stopped showing signs of hermaphroditism . . not sure what to make of this since you are having stress issues too... i'm not planning on using the vero 29 after this, unless it's to make some cheap area lighting. not a good experience since that was my most vigorous plant from seed that i crossed. UGH... at least i got some clones for the next time , before this happened.

so yeah it's probably the vero's

Feed seems fine, might want to dial back the Calmag...

Read the plant, dial it back a bit and see if it recovers...

Yeah its very annoying to have that happen. I don't see many people having similar issues with cree and not much grows done with vero so i wonder if the cree cobs are more suited for growing plants. I did notice after adding more calmag to the diet the plants started to improve on growth but still slow compared to CFL. I also don't see how I can be having too much light with 100W of led and I was planning on increasing it to 200W by the time she's ready to flower

the vegatative growth is really slow IHMO, i had better results with other LEDS, even using simple LED lighbulbs 9w from Osram with caps off.. I definitely thinking i didn't spend my money where i needed to. these leds are not nearly as good as the ones i previously used. regardless the numbers look good on paper, but i'm thinking it's just the quality of light is not the best for these plants. maybe it's 4k or something else with vero leds.... NOT sure, but NOT going to spend that amount of money to find out either. i'll use the epilstar as it is the cheapest 100w cob that put out some intense light that my plants loved. (i'll start a thread as soon as I have 6 of these running.)

I hope I can get better growth during flowering with these lights and I plan on transplanting from a 2 gal to a 5 gal in a few days. I'll see what happens.

using lenses? maybe its too intense?
I don't use lenses since i'm in a 2x2x5 tent but I do have a thin piece of clear acrylic over the cobs. That's also the reason I cant raise my light so that sucks. I think they are intense I put a piece of black electrical tape on the other side of the acrylic and like 30 seconds late I smelt burning and was like WTF? then I seen the tape smoking and it was melted. Haha

me 3!!!! Good luck, i really hope for the best, but just comparing the same strain on my side it's puzzles me.... however lets stay positive! we will have good SMOKE!!! i sure the resin willbe really nice, these on paper have a "better" spectrum and lots of lumens. when it comes to it, I'm going to make sure these are no less than 12 cm from the tops that's for sure!!!!!

Hell yeah man I hope to get some fat juicy nugs with her Im also going to be adding some pro tekt soon as I heard the silicon can help with environmental stresses. If everything works out I will post the results in the future:bigjoint:

Take the acrylic off From in front of the cob. It's not he vero it's you man. Sorry... Raise the fricking light to 30+ inches above the canopy and have lots of air movement across the topof said canopy. Trust me... I know what the fuck I'm doing.

600w of vero18 matching easily my 600 w hps on the other side of this 8*8tent. This is just a 4*4 section covered by the led

That 100w of vero is killing your plant by intensity. Start them way high and move them down as the plants adapt. If you are not using quality organics then you will need to gradually add Cal mag as the leaves begin to show the deficiency. If in coco... A whole lot more...lol

Veros and cobs are only a tool. You have to learn to use them right for it to be effective.
