Need some infos about Leds

hi all,

let me start by saying that i have no intention to get spoonfed (the next time lol) i will do all my research after that, i have just some questions before i start my journey of a cannabis grower :)

i'm a complete newbie and i would like to start growing with leds, i watched Gromau5 videos about building your own led lights (excellent videos btw) but there is somethings i don't understand

i would like to buy Cree leds on cutter electronics but i don't understand what CD Bin, DB Bin, BD Min 90 CRI (+5.12), CD BIN (-1.2 ) mean ??
Also there is the Kelvin thing (3000k, 3500k, 4000k etc) what this is supposed to mean? if i understand correctly it is about the color right ?how do i know which number represent which color ? what colors should i choose if i want to order Graumau5 grow kit (8 Cree Led and a 400w Driver)?

Last question and most important
is it possible to grow from seed to harvest in 1 month and half with 400w ? yield doesn't matter for my first time i just want to complete my fist grow before the 8 of July
which strain grow the fastest for that matter ?
should i put the plant directly on 12/12 after a week or 2 of veg ?

do you have some advices ?

thank you so much and i promise next time to do all the research and will never ask dumb questions again :dunce:

@OGHulk thanks for watching. Ill try to provide you with some additional info on what all the letters and numbers mean in the Cree product codes.
typically from seed to harvest takes 105 days. But this is a broad generalization. Either source a clone, or research autoflowering strains to meet your "deadline"

I wouldn't worry too much about CRI, thats how close the light resembles the sun to us Humans. Plants care about photons in the PAR range. The letters: cb, cd, db, etc refer to the bin, which is how Cree classifies the light output of the chips. Again, simplifying here. if you are looking for top bins, select the model with the highest lumen numbers for the color temperature you are interested in. Many people are using exclusively 3500k color if they have one light from seed to harvest. CD bin.

youd be hard pressed to finish anything between now and July 8 even with an 'autoflower' strain

Thank you Growmau !! you are truly an inspiration! you are the one who motivated me to start :-D
before i discover you on youtube i did not want to grow with HPS/MH for different reasons and while LED was what i was looking for, it seemed too obscure/not viable/expensive/crappy yield/scam etc.. so i dropped the idea until i found your amazing videos ( I loved the DIY LED Basics video series )

please keep up the good work, newbies like me need more guys like you

@OGHulk thanks for that amazing compliment. The real work is being done here, by all the amazing members of RIU. nobody was putting a simple step by step on video for some reason tho.
hang around here long enough and you will learn everything you ever wanted to know about LEDs. cheers

yeah it seem like an amazing community and i'm only starting to explore the differents sections of the forum, i just wished the informations was more organized and centralized because it seem a little hard to read old stickes with thousands of replies
