I can see pros and con's for autos and photo both using them for production.
Autos produce good now. Quart to half pound easy on the bigger autos in a 100 days or so.
I could easily set up a commercial auto grow. No need for flower room. No clone room. The extra power for those extra areas. A room to make seeds in would be needed.
With photos you need a veg room, flower room, mothers and clones.
The THC on autos is right there with photos now.
The only down side to auto is yield, hours you run lights, and potency.
With a good breeder, buying or making yourself, the potency is not an issue.
Yield per plant may be lower but the turn over is faster. With perpetual it doesn't matter either way once started and a full cycle is run.
You do run lights longer but in one room. For a photo plant for every veg light I run I might need double that to flower. The cost to run autos wouldn't be that much more.
A commercial greenhouse operation supplemented with light would rock for autos.
Maybe there are no commercial facilities that run autos, that doesn't mean it wouldn't work or is a bad idea.
