Transplant?

How's it going guys. Quick question and I apologize if it's been asked/answered 100 times, but don't see sticky's here in the section.

I started my first two autos recently in small like 1/2 gal pots with the thought of transplanting later. Now I see you should not transplant at all. Do I move these plants and if so when? Leave them where they are and harvest the tiniest plants ever, or just scratch their grow and drop new beans?

I know now I made an error, just looking for advice on the best way to go about this....

I wouldn't waste the beans, go ahead and transplant into final pot...be gentle. I've transplanted a few before I knew better and most were fine.

One has been stagnant for a week I yanked it and dropped a new bean just a moment ago that germed well and had the taproot out.. The other is a seedling that sprouted on 4/20 and here is a pic:

I'd move them as soon as possible IMO. I recommend 5gal pots for them girls

Would a 10 gal and growing outdoor work for the one in the pic, or is that too much?

That would be good for outdoors, I have one in a 10 gal smart pot indoors now. I would have mine outdoors if I could

10 gallons is a waste. Max is 5 even for super autos. Another thing you can do is keep them in that pot until the roots fill it and then transplant. Wouldn't be any shock. If you do it not make sure the hole is as deep and the root is long.

I was thinking this would be the case thanks for chiming in I will most likely do just that and get a 5 gallon pot for her. I think the 10 gal would be overkill for an auto that lives such a short time.

You can always cut off the bottom of the pot they are in and set it into a 5 gal pot. Kinda like a wedding cake but not so tall. This will help you water the top smaller pot and it will flow down to the roots.

That's an interesting idea Leo......and would make for an easy fit to move it to a SIP........

I hear they call that super transplant I believe....you always hear peolpe say start in and finish in the same pot...but alot of times that's not possible in you don't have the room
