For anyone that watched the WH correspondents dinner the other night, in which Obama showed again that if he gets bored with retirement and wants to expand his portfolio, well, stand up comedy is apparently a natural for him.
I'm not so sure for Larry Wilmore. He basically sucked, and to crown off his debacle of a performance, he finished it off for history, seeing as it will be watched for generations to come, by he giving himself a chest thump with his right hand, gangem style, and calling the President of the United States, "mah nigga"
What the fuck was that about? Am I wrong to think that was a racist thing to say? After all, Obama made a joke just before about how white people should not use slang "On Black Time", or OBT, like NYC Mayor Di Blasio just found out about. Man, that was a fucked up thing to say to Obama, at least I thought so, as far balancing the thought of equality between races in this country.
Wilmore , whom I previously liked, just showed to me, at least, that he is one dumb.........., (son of a bitch?)

Don't get the wrong idea, I'm not condoning it, I'm just saying, censorship is a bad thing. He probably just shouldn't have written the joke in the first place, but clearly, if this guy is white, he's probably a little ignorant.

His line was out of place, that's all. A room full of stuffed shirts wouldn't understand the context. But no it wasn't a racist thing for Wilmore to say. The same words coming from a black man have completely different meaning than if they came from a white man. That said, I think its funny that people are all puffed up about it.

If he is black then no big deal..that belongs to them..term of endearment.

Don't be white and say it.
What about Chinese or Hispanic?

Can they say it?

The word should either be off limits or not. Personally I think just because of the office Obama holds its wrongful to call him that.

Office aside, I know your point is essentially the reality we live in. But that doesn't make it right.

Your post sounds a bit racist. Since it defaults to a double standard based solely on (what you perceive) as the similar race of Obama and the comedian.

If Obama had said the same thing, would you think it was "half right", since Obama is half white?

Do you ascribe to the "one drop rule" and do you favor a racist hypodescent approach like @UncleBuck does?

We agree that it's funny people make a big deal out of it.
