hey homebrewer,

decided on giving dyna gro a shot this grow in hempy buckets under a 600hps. got the foliage pro. after reading most of the ak-47 post, i got the impression that you were looking at using FP and bloom together to get the 1-3-2 ratio? the FP is a 3-1-2 ratio which is better for veg phase? or are you using FP for veg and bloom?

thanks for the help and really enjoyed reading both your GH and AN comparisons.

I've never tried hempy buckets so a combo of grow or foliage pro AND bloom could be best for flower. Give it a shot and let us know how it works. In true hydro, I like FP and bloom together in flower. In promix I use FP from start to finish. I've found that the growing method matters in regards to what NPK seems to work best.

u da man dude!!!!!!

all of you are awesome, thanks for the information. homebrewer, your well-written threads turned me onto dg and i've enjoyed using it so far but am looking for some fine tuning. if this has already been discussed in this thread please let me know, i missed it. in promix/perlite mix what are people doing in terms of ppm/ec, frequency of feeding/watering (how many times per week and do you feed/feed/water? feed, water, feed?) also how much water does each plant get per watering in what size container? I've found with my setup that fertilizing with almost every watering around 600ppm in veg (4ml/gal protekt 3ml/gal foliage pro, 2ml/gal magpro in R/O water) has given me the healthiest looking plants and fastest growth, but there is still room for improvement so if you would be kind enough to share the details of the watering/fertilizing approach you've had the most success with that would be great.

This is the sort of stuff that is dependent on your environment. Just take notes, stay consistent, and dial in something that works best for you, your plants, and your environment.

I've been looking for DG foliage pro & none of the grow stores in my area carry it. I want to run side-by-side tests with Mills AB.
Can you hook me up???

On a side note. DG Foliage Pro rocks for my palms and shrubs. One capful per 5 gallon bucket.

@ Chunky Stool - I found DG Foliage Pro on Amazon.

Edit: Didn't see the offer of Swag and Nutrients :bigjoint:

I'm going to switch over to Dyna gro and give it a try.....maybe someone could tell me if I have this correct. I'm using hydro(waterfarms) and ro water......so I just need foliage pro for veg and a combo of foliage pro and bloom for flower(1:4ratio)? And the mag pro the whole time because of the ro water? I won't get a cal def? Is this correct.....sorry for the noob questions, just wanna get this right before I pull the trigger.......tks

Predd, We direct users not use two complete nutrients in the same feeding. That being the Foliage-Pro and Bloom in your case. Using one or the other will work best, based on my knowledge. Use the Mag-Pro as a supplement to the Fol or the Bloom. If you choose to use both the Fol and the Bloom, just be sure to switch over to Bloom for flowering and then use the Mag-Pro as supplement. I've heard many people just use Foliage Pro throughout the entire grow, then use Mag-Pro as a supplement for flowering. This is the simplest and most effective way I have seen thus far, but these are experienced growers. For a little less experience, I would suggest using the Fol, then the bloom with the mag for flowering using our feeding chart.
As to the worries of a calcium deficiency, we supply enough calcium within our complete nutrients for the pant to store a sufficient amount for the grow. With that being said, that is why you see our Mag-Pro with very little calcium and more sulfur. The sulfur will help to increase pungent smells and tastes while making for a denser bud or flower.

Been meaning to contact you! We are not able to stop by on our way due to our very strict schedule. We need to drive down to San Diego and then directly after the show dart back to the bay area to send off the booth to Michigan. Sorry to bare the bad news, but are you able to meet us in San Diego?

Not to step on anyone's toes here but I think all you need to do to kill it with DG is stick with the print in bold above.

So literally just that, no cal/mag, silicate, kelp, etc? Just askin cause guys all the time say " I just use a simple 3 bottle system...well and this, this, this...and some this...." lol . I love DG for it's completeness, but I do use ProTekt and kelp...I assume they help because smart people say they do....

You can add silica and kelp, they're both beneficial but not essential. For a 'beginner', I'd personally limit the variables.
