Help colas turning black around the edges?

We have plenty of experts on flushing here on rollitup. Like I said with me the biggest thing is the chlorophyll at the end makes the weed harsh. The curing process is one of the most important parts and it takes care of most of the harshness but the green taste is what I don't like. Definitely look up curing. I want my terpene profiles to stand out and the smoke to be smooth and not make you cough. In my signature at the bottom of my post it says water only. click on it and give it a look, its a good read. I use tap water start to finish with a little raw cane sugar to keep the microbes happy.

I'm smoking some that I quick dryer today and it's ok not too harsh. So maybe feed tomorrow than final flush a few days before harvest.

Don't feed heavy just feed light last few weeks. then give it plain water for 7 days if you want or just the last 2 to 3 days. I wouldn't starve it for 3 weeks though that's when all the magic happens

Like I said Its all about that trichome color and that happens after the final swelling. Your doing a great job man. I hope you stick around. You would do yourself a service if you look into curing. I don't touch mine until after four months of being in a glass jar and they don't go into the jar until a couple weeks of going from drying rack to paper sack, jar, paper sack and then the burping.

I leave it on the rack until the edges are crispy and firm usually around five days. Don't forget the brown paper sack it helps. Go from drying rack to sack fold the top for a day check the moisture. The paper sack will re hydrate whilst absorbing the moisture slowly. The thicker the bag the better. It requires a stir after a day and may need to be placed back on the drying rack. I don't know if I've ever shared this with anyone but don't question it just do it.

The paper bag idea jives with me, intuitively, I don't know why. Previous cures that I let go for 2+ months have been by far the best results. What sort of ambient air temps are you running during your process?

Ignore it - pheno characteristic. Strains will show different genetic traits , even from the same seed batch. Sometimes so called sativa dom strains end up more indica. With all of the strain crosses , reverse crossing and such gives different results.

I popped a Papaya strain ( 2 ) same seed batch ... Ended up with to different looking plants. It looks like a purp characteristic either from temps , enviroment or latent genetics.

You are already into week 7 ( i believe you said ) , begin the water only schedule at or near final weeks. If you see at least .... Some milkiness in the trichs it means they are getting ripe. Some of your leaves will turn color , regardless and does not mean deficiency. You are getting into the last stretch , so there is NO REASON to try to add new feed or supplemental products. The flowers will swell and mature still UNTIL you feel its time to chop. It comes down to pulling the plug at the RIGHT MOMENT.

I'd raise the ph closer to 6.5 for a little...looks like molybdenum deficiency along with a possible phosphorus deficiency.

Give it a chance, you'll be happy if you want a healthy plant.

Also, look at the trichomes before harvesting. Mostly Cloudy with 20% amber is your best bet!

Thank you. I realized it's probably from dropping the temps 10-15 at night. I'm going to follow GH feed schedule and feed tomorrow. Than start just water only closer to harvest.

I've been running ambient air temps at 75-85

Keep up flush untill runoff read 400 or less ppm for a week ur smoke will be better

I have a separate tent for drying and figured out how to dry slowly. I've got all that right and the room runs 73-77f (23-24C) - I'm defo going to try the paper bag thing.

I'm looking at the trichomes and seeing lots with no head I'm guessing those are damaged or passed there prime? Some Amber also.

Trichomes without the head are not fully formed correct? After they go amber and past the window does the head fall off also?

Yes they can fall off. If your seeing amber then your done. when it turns amber the potency starts dropping. Thc will start to degrade to cbn and thrichome heads will fall off.

I'm only seeing a few Amber. Do you think I should cut the top parts of the plant and let the bottoms go another week or just throw the bottom s into the trim pile?
