i think the fermenting process produces the co2 sugar and yeastI haven't brewed beer, but aren't you supposed to keep it bottled up? Isn't the CO2 the 'bubbles' in beer? If it was open, wouldn't that make flat beer? (yuck!)
when the beer is bottled you can add a tiny amount of sugar which livens it up again try it you can knock up 5 gal for less than 12 pounds 20 bucks.
