That is a component for actually building soils! Faster availability then some other soil building components BUT, NOT a good source for supplementing already growing plants.

I see kelp meal at Walmart for $8. If I blend it into some soil, when will it break down enough to be useable for plants? 2 weeks? 2 months?
A month.......Like I said - USE A KELP EXTRACT for fast acting and feeding use. Kelp meal in the soil is best used for BUILDING soils to START ..
So I should blend it into some soil now so when its finally time to transplant my younglings into a larger pot they can use that new added soil. Okay thanks.
While greensand is nice.....It's a more "down the road" amendment for building soils. IF I were to use it. I would most likely use another source that's faster on the availability list.....Greensand is best available in soils that are reused and like the 2nd or more the third time they're used = more available.
