Not all cave men refused responsibility of their tribe yet they were free? Without contract.
No, being taxed is arbitrary, coercive and indicative that SOME people decide how others will live, with or WITHOUT their consent. If a person doesn't use something and is forced to pay for it, they have been stolen from.
Also, the so called services that government provides come in a package where it is difficult to unbind the "goods and services" from the "bads and disservices". Not to mention many services which are rendered by coercion based governments could be improved if other entities were ALLOWED to provide them.
How much of your income do you pay in taxes? What percentage? Also, what percentage would be "fair"?
A fair transaction should have the element of choice, from both sides of the transaction.
If you don't use something and are charged for it, with or without your consent, choice is extinguished, which is one of the components of slavery...no choice.
