Guess I will have to do more research. My first bit of received info on the cmh was they were kick ass veg lights, then people started trying them with flowering and also got good results.IMHO, I dunno if I would do that. its a single point type light source, I'm guessing just like low power HPS they cause stretching. you want a muted light source to help with tighter nodes, and give you a chance to train your plants. which is why T-5's are so good at this. but even if you had that old kind k3 laying around that would work too.
you just don't want a pin point light sources, you gonna get up on morning and see big long shafts in your face lol.
when I was using my k3 CMH combo, I didn't fire up the CMH's till flower.
When my kind k5's took a shit I was going to go with 4 cmh. The price then would have been 1900 with tax to cover a 3x12 area although my space is 4x12. Then I stumbled on Amare and for 600$ more got 3 se-450's.
Currently I'm vegging under just the monos at 24" and the plants are showing signs of light stress. These are almost too powerful to veg under. Can't wait to turn on the cob's and see what they do for flowering
