What is the name of this new light

It is over 90% efficient, has 5 channel control (blue, white, red, UV and IR) on separate control with phone or tablet on each channel, it will be UL rated so it’s a certified light for inspection, 5 year warranty, uses mcob LEDs that are custom and specific for plant growth, and it will do a true 4x4 or 5x5 footprint depending on the model.

It won’t be a cheap light, but given the specs, testing done and technology put into it, it will become one of the best lights in the market.

Coming out in July, apparently it's from the marketing guy who left Kind.

Over 90% efficient? BULLSHIT!

Unfortunately I dont think anything over 70% is possible right now, except maybe in a state of the art lab. Anything over 50% efficiency, commercially available, right now is considered very good.
Agreed, just trying to figure out who is making this claim.

imho mcobs as arrays of 3 watt are a dead end tech.

all of the real efficiency gains seem to be coming from exploiting small diodes and optimizing chip level mfg around that.

spectrom king
spectrum konn.
maybe the 3 of us can rub craniums together and the letters will rearrange, lol

Spectruk Kong dun a test by Crees u kun reed about it hur:

https://www.spectrumkingled.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/CREE_TEMPO-Report_2015-08-18.pdf

it is comprised of 40 Cree MK-R diodes and a mix of 14 reds. not the standard leds in the highbays from Alibaba.

On the topic of the OP. maybe the MIT guys are releasing their LED light. I think that one was what 0.025w?
-the highest efficiency I've seen listed on these pages is cxb3590 5000k DD 74.25% eff @ 700ma. so 90% just sounds insane.

i never said that it was a crap high bay its just not worth the money they want.

Great read man thanks so many reasons i am glad i didnt buy one there pretty damn good for how wide the spectrum that they hit but pretty damn low on lumen\watt and personal way to much green for me. my2cents which means notta lol

Bright light led is from texas who make the king

check out the image it looks like the king and brightlightled are paying attention lol.
I just dont think a full spectrum matters as much as we think. hps is all i can say.
I would rather have a 140lumen\watt at 4000k then 90 with a full spec
Wondering what direction this new light is going full spec or not

YES, Spectrum King lights are total BULLSHIT. I purchased 23 of the 400+ and after running them in 2 rooms for 6 months, I replaced them with Nanolux DE HPS lights and OMG what a difference. I went financially backwards with the Spectrum Kings to the tune of about $60k in the hole and to make things worse, my electric bill went down over $200 per month with the Nanolux over the LEDs. The Nanolux produced about 30% more product with better quality and at a cost of under $400 each. Spectrum Kings, $1400 each. Do the math and then stay away from them. They are a good tent light at best.
