That wasn't me, but the dude ran it for a month and loved it.

I'll be getting a revolution micro ballast and integrated fixture soon and I'll continue this very line of testing.
I have been looking at those as well with much interest. Not quite ready to scrap my current DE drivers, but they are certainly a nice looking setup, for a very fair price, considering the alternatives. Let us know how it works out!

It's a promise. Rev Micro is sending me their ballast and fixture specifically to try it out and tell everyone, and I certainly plan to hold up my end of the bargain.

I want to use monochrome LEDs w/ Cobs to achieve a higher CRI while maintaining efficiency. Also, to achieve higher par #'s. They also allow me to enhance the Kelvin temp of the COB. IMO, as an HPS grower, any help the LEDs can get is beneficial. I believe Monos w/ COBs helped me achieve the results I wanted.

Adding red to white always helps increase yields in every study I've seen on it. I wouldn't add blue though, already more than enough in white COBs. If you want more blue then I suggest getting high CCT COBs, like 5000k or more. Then you'll have all the blue you will ever want and you can just play with the red level by adding the monos.

Fluence has their spectrum as basically a 35k w/ a 660 boost (think they go about it differently though) & good results have been coming in. But I noticed allot of the better companies w/ results don't add 660 but do add 630. Some monos n some cobs. But spectrum is spectrum when adding to whites. I think the 630 in conjunction w/ the far refs gives the desired Yeild increase w/o the bleaching problem. I think I noticed that on Apache, BudMaster, Amare, & a few others, I forget right now, that are known for good results w/ a balanced spectrum preventing bleaching at any hieght.
I just harvested a comparison run & am not happy w/ the Hydroponics Hut which has the 660 + 450 peaks. The buds look funny. Not right & very little.
I have offered to do a comparison for any comp. w/ straight cobs vs. cobs n monos a few times. No one seems interested.
The real comparison I'll be doing soon is my HPS vs. my Amare. To me, my led weed looks allot different then my HPS weed.

That result from your HH light made me real glad I ditched my Progro 260 in favor of COB's! Thanks for doing that. Would be neat to run the Amare vs a CMH too..........

Thanks! I'm glad someone got something outta it. I know I did. Weights will be in tom. The HH did so poorly I could puke. I want to send it back as I don't think I will have any use for it. Vegged well but WTF am I to do with the other 250w w/ 660's in it? If that very popular spectrum puts out like that in all those Kind've lights, i understand why LED was given such a bad name. My guess is many led users hadnt grown w/ HPS before & that's why it became acceptable. Now that white has become an option, more will see that LED can be a viable solution to wasted energy.
I almost don't believe the BML Spyder1200 comparison test anymore. To the DE.
Maybe some of those Burple lights do well but I wouldn't take that advice from any Burple user whom has never grown w/ HPS or at least the White LED.
Allot has been learned about lighting for growing over the past 2 years. And I think taking all that knowledge & combining it is the best part about mixing Monos w/ COBs.
It can't be that much harder in a DIY build. I would if I built one. I'd be going for 60% white COB / 40% monos in my colors.

For some reason the CMH lights keep calling my attention, but the Amare lights look good too. I am not in any way unhappy with my lights, just like to keep learning and see what's out there. I had not come across Amare until after getting my lights but the 450 looks great........

THIS looks better for much MUCH less. It comes with all Cree monos and CXB3070's. Just not in these pics.

http://www.ecosunlite.com/e_productshow/?56-ESL-CREE-CX-COB-LED-6-56.html

Pics show bridgelux cobs but I've emailed the owner and he assured me it comes with CXB3070's.

Doesn't that ecosunlite use Cree xpe diodes for all the monos?

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that 2013 tech?
Would at least XP-G2 or the new XP-G3 be a pretty big step up?

Also, a guy msgd me on Instagram asking about that light. His shipping quote for 2 pcs was $200 DHL to the USA.

I think Airwalker is getting @ bang for the buck with the options the light brings is all.......
That's cool, I'm not trying to poo on anyone's fiesta. But with that many monos , of that type & grade , you take a cob with respectable stats like the cxb3070 ~51-52% efficient and the monos running in the low to mid 40s%
And all the sudden this LED doesn't look that much more attractive than a CMH.
