I just tried to do a perpetual in hydro (trays) and it's the rooms or lack of that was the hard part. I have two and trying to do that was quite difficult. I think pots with either drain to waste drip or soil (ahhhh fungus gnats) are what I will try next. Trying to keep the water cool enough for all the trays was getting to be a real engineering nightmare.

what system do you think is easiest to keep clean and running

coco/pro-mix/fox with a drip system

DWC

ebb-n-flow (greentrees)

house work would be the worse part of full time.[/QUOTe

DWC is the hardest thats what i do but quicker results. & easiest would be drip line.

So how's this working out for ypou? I got 17 in ground growing fast.
Back to your supplemental lighting, I would go find a couple t5-t8s or whatever. You can find them used for like 20 bucks. Cheap efficient and low to no heat.

I've seen many a grow journal based just off these lights.
While the yield is never as good as HID, the quality is usually way higher

I'm going to look into some T5s soon. Where for 20 though Walmart Home Depot ?

I'm using my 400 hid in my veg room until there ready then putting that back in the flower room. I have some white widow curing that'll hold me over till the end of next month for bills. Autoflower got me like 3 zips

If you have already had success with growing Cannabis full time already, then by all means go for it! If not, maybe find another part-time job but make the grow more of a priority and be a bit more frugal until you get far enough to relax and not have to worry about bills, but don't get too relaxed and try all of your product, haha!

How's this going by the way? Noticed this post was back in April!

Be wicked if I was in an area of youth and be properly medicated for my brain damage and upper leg break motorcycle accident; hit wall etc.

LOL yes that would work, it was more of a "what's the least amount" but I guess that depends as well. Perhaps I was high when asking, I forget why I even asked lol. I tried to set up a perpetual and quickly realized my setup required a few more rooms and space to do it.
Two rooms will suffice, one each for veg and bloom. Just move a plant from one to the other every two weeks and voila! Instant perpetual!

Ya well that's the issue my plants come in 6's lol. thinking a whole new setup is in order, too limited in expansion in a small room running trays.

It was going great for these past 2 months, but wanted to start saving to buy a crib while still doing this so needed a little something
