Worst strain I've ever grown, huge waste of time and fuck Herbies for giving this garbage out for free, Its good birdseed and that's it.
I ordered two times from herbies a few years ago and they never did ship my seeds out.i WOULD NEVER BUY FROM THEM OR even take free seeds now FROM THEM FUCKING CROOKS even in person if I meet them..

one of my old time favorat strains to smoke and a good sealer here as well.i just wish I could get some good seed in the states of it.i have It crossed with a strain of mine but I would love to have the pure strain again..ky
there are many pure afghans available from various seed sellers
i tried 4 or so of his crosses they were all bad sadly
there are ok plants here and there but the stability is poor, might as well grow GHS

Ran these Afghani freebies recently and am pretty happy with them. Easy growing Indica. A couple yrs ago I used pollen from this strain and hit my med-grade Durga Mata II female with it. Nice results, and potent product. I'm happy with it, and even better, one parent was a freebie :p.
DSCN0977.JPG DSCN0978.JPG Picked a bit early to make space, still has powerful Indica effects after a couple of rips. What you would expect from an Afghani #1. No complaints here :bigjoint:

I got a pack of Seedsman Afghan a while back. I got a sativa looking plant with a very calm or sedative stone to it. Potency was average. Good nighttime stuff.

I know man, many times it is down to "luck of the draw" especially when dealing with freebies (as in my case). I got a few very short and fairly uniform Indicas as well as a decent breeder male from this Afghani. As I read these posts, I consider myself lucky with what I got. Actually used this strain to make some seeds and the results came out better than expected. In comparison to the Master Kush (Nirvana Seeds) the seeds I made myself have much better results in terms of Indica Potency and related benefits. Glad I still have a few of those beans left for the future.

Lmao man, it seems like that now, but just remember - don't believe Everything You read. The knowledge will come with time and experience ;-)
Well also this thread started in '11 so they may have been through a couple hundred crop rotations since then. Hopefully things are getting better, and more stable, but ya never know right? Might have given the beans to someone to breed and he peckerd it all up, and maybe he made fire with it. But ya, thats all seeds you buy ;)

I think I just got lucky. I don't have much experience breeding, other than the obvious (i.e. choosing the best phenos for parents based on the characteristics I like). In my case the parents were: Paradise Seeds' Durga Mata II Med-Strain (mom), that I hit with some Afghani Pollen (Seedsman), which I received as freebies. The Durga Mata was a good medicinal strain, but was not all that potent (for an Indica). The Afghani phenos I tested were stronger, while all my phenos from the resulting hybrid (which I named Midnight Nectar) have turned out to be Remarkably Potent . I made this cross under HPS light, but recently have used MH- Lighting from start to finish when growing the Midnight Nectar. I wanted to test a theory regarding MH Lighting producing more potent end product. There seems to be a definite correlation between spectrum and potency, according to what I've seen here. In comparison, I just finished Nirvana's Master Kush, also grown under the MH- Lamp and am disappointed with her potency. The bud is covered in trichs, looks, smells, and tastes great, but isn't half as potent as the Midnight Nectar hybrid I made. I'm so glad I still have some of those original seeds I made over 2 yrs ago. Much to my Surprise, there is almost no variation between the phenos, which I was expecting since this is not a "stabilized hybrid". I recently got a few more original Afghani Seeds (free) in hopes of crossing the Midnight Nectar back to her Afghani parentage. I'm hoping to get lucky for the second time around ;-)... Good vibes, good smoke and cheers :joint: .

Every strain has either "the best in the world" to "worst strain ever". I give up, next time i order seeds im going to flip a coin or something.
Pretty much take the best strain you ever grew start a thread I bet you will find plenty of haters. To me it mostly seems like everything is decent with a few greats and very few shit lines.

But their are many breeders and strains I haven't tried I was more thinking of going with Sensi Seeds for Afghan and Hindu Kush not expecting the best but you never know at least should find some worth breeding after all Afghan is in most everything great.

Sensi Seed's Maple Leaf Indica is some of the best Afghani in the world, according to many people who know the difference. Never tried it myself, but also never read anything negative about this strain either.
