Minimum Flowering lumens?

Hi Guys,

Wondering if anyone out there has the information I seek...

I have a light meter, and I have light metered each of my bud sights. The range is from 120,000 - 15,000 Lumens under my 600W HPS.

I have chopped off any bud sites recieving less than the 15k lumens mark.

My question is, what is the minimum amount of light required for a single flower bud site?

Thanks for the replies!:)

Peace out-

Tis not the buds that use light, so those you chopped are simply buds you'll never smoke

the minimum lumens for a plant response is 3000

Though lumens means nothing to plants

I read at least 20000 for flower
I flower with T5's, I cover a 5x5 (25 sq ft) with 90,000 lumens total, my lights are 2 feet off the canopy.

This bud is a bottom branch 4 feet from the nearest light and is bigger than a bic lighter

Light is but one adjustable element in the garden, understanding all of em and how they work together is the key !!!

This answers my question very well.

So with 5K lumens on a flower site, you still getting decent sized flowers? Great! thank you.

Your right, they mean nothing to plants. It is a measurement of how the human eye see's light, a measurement that is required for me to ask the question I am asking. Not that many people have PAR meters, so I asked for LUX instead.

Peace out peeps!
