If you always keep your set clean. I change every 14 days..I just top off when needed with h20, up until the 14th dayEvery 1 week, Every 2 weeks?
Dude, cut the attitude. No one likes a prick. You're no one special. If you didn't want to answer, you didn't have to. I wanted to hear the opinions of the people in this community. Searching didn't give me that. Other than that, thanks for your input.Every 7 days because I like the process and I like the reservoir to be clean. Also helps with nutrients, because the plant doesn't use everything in equal measures.
And by the way, there is a search tool for a bloody reason. All it took was a few seconds, instead of making a pointless thread.

Thank youNever, I use aquaponics
...most hydroponic grows are once a week to keep a sterile.
Not prob! Happy growingThanks for your input.
Great! thanks for your input.Depends on the person and the environment they are creating and running in. For example if you have warm temps and weren't using a preventative it'd be wise to swap more often in the case of bacteria growth to stay more sterile.
In all reality if you do it right you never have to completely change the res.
But anyway, you asked what we do personally.
During veg when my plants smaller and easy to lift out of my small veg closet I empty and spray/clean my res every week. Once she gets bigger and a pain to lift out of the bucket I just pump the remaining water out every 7 days or so and refill. I don't like to leave that "waste" water in because it has unknown ratios of nutes since the plant picked and chose what ones it wanted to take and leave. In other words I only top off if I don't have time to empty & refill bucket completely and/or if the plant drained the res in less than 7 days.
So basically I'm similiar to Gregor.
Thank you for your input! If I don't have any problems during veg I only change res every 3-4 weeks. When flowering its 1-2 weeks depending how busy I am and how much water its drinking. I just top off with tap between changes. This is 5 gal dwc buckets.
Hmm, great input!I run a 100L Res and like others have said it depends with my setup.66 In veg I can let mine go for 10-14 days depending on stage but when they go into stretch mode and heavy growth it's 5 days due to low water levels and PH dropping fairly quickly. When my ph starts to drop I figure it's time even with adequate water levels
Since I added the chiller and started using hydroguard it seems to have lengthened the need to change up, I am still reluctant to let it go for any more than 7 days in flower but I probably could. It takes me 3-5 minutes to change it out, I add back only if I'm pressed for time and it's dangerously close to pump pick up.I've been changing mine weekly, but starting to think I could run it longer.

Yeah, for sure. The only thing I get annoyed by when having to change the res is that Im using RO and it takes FOREVER to fill up even 5 gallons.Since I added the chiller and started using hydroguard it seems to have lengthened the need to change up, I am still reluctant to let it go for any more than 7 days in flower but I probably could. It would be nice if you could rig up a plastic barrel with a float to keep a supply on hand .Yeah, for sure. The only thing I get annoyed by when having to change the res is that Im using RO and it takes FOREVER to fill up even 5 gallons.
