that's a trunk line tool. any side cutter will work.

don't use wire strippers unless you want to replace them, they're made for copper only.

needle nose are preferred, as they can easily puncture the mylar, and side cutter easily snips the coil wire. dikes work too, but that's a little overkill. i use flex duct everyday at work, needlenose are ideal.
Yeah, when I first read it I immediately thought "spiral pipe". Definitely don't use good metal snips on the spring steel wire helix in flex duct.
