So I'm growing a black cherry soda and just got a 400 hPS set up I keep light about a foot from light water when inch deep soil dry I'm using foxfarm ocean Forrest and I can get this plant or its clones to smell what am I doing wrong.

Sorry, I couldn't resist trying to be humorous, no offense meant.

As for why your plant does not smell...no budz. Terpenes are produced and most active in flowering. Wait for it...patience is a virtue especially when it comes to cultivation.

Also, I was wondering what you are planning on to vent and cool the 400w HID?

They will in flower. If you rub the main stem at the base you can get some oils that will smell. Way to identify a good male.

Also, I was wondering what you are planning on to vent and cool the 400w HID?

I'm doing a closet grow both sides have box fans and I have a small fan blowing on my bulb. And trust me I'm working my ass off to keep heat at bay I'm able to keep my light close tho as u can see no burns

Ok, how long have you had the plant under the HID? And, can you post a pic or pics of your whole grow area?
