Music

There are absolutely "studies" that found increase in plant growth from different types of music. Unfortunately, many of them are sooo shoddy in a scientific sense that the results are meaningless.

I just read one paper by two Indian grad students (lame ones at that) where there study looked at 5 groups of 4 plants. I'm sorry, but a sample size of 4 is not large enough to show a trend. The also "forgot" to actually complete a statistical analysis and generate a P value to actually demonstrate a positive correlation between music and growth.

As a guy with a BS in wildlife science (which is a shit load of statistics) and a MS in ecology, I can tell you that many of these "studies" are garbage at best.

Go look at your 30 or 40 plants in your veg area. I guarantee there is a differnece in total plant height between them... it's called natural variability (and lack of environmental control). But, as MANY a weed grower has done before you, feel free to chalk it up to any one condition.

Let's just say this, there are many more areas that deserve far more of your attention in terms of boosting growth and yield then playing music.
I still cannot understand why no hort. student has not done a correct test yet

even if we were growing strawberries or mushroom?

some grower would eventually ask the same

as in my own case, it started as a trial and showed results (citation needed)

so have continued since, but as BionicΩChronic above says

..playing music is virtually free and easy to do... so in my opinion why not?

I agree, current studies are crap ...but until

some class does a correct and true study ...Why not..?

good luck

ps. when Mp3 players came out, for me they were really expensive, this one was supposed to read .Pdf's ....

that never happened ? so now I draw comfort that I'm getting some use outta the fucker at last ....lol

I play a Zen relaxation track for an hour before and after lights on and off, so 4 hours total per day. Currently doing an experiment using 2 cabinets in totally separate locations, one gets music, the other is silent.
Strain is Grapefruit Diesel, both plants are from seed and both were manifolded out to 16 tops.
I just deleted all my pics, but so far the music played plants have way bigger buds. I'll make a proper post with good pics in 2-3 weeks after its all dry and weighed.

They could be 2 completely different phenos.
I agree. I should take 1st generation clones from a stable mother and put them in the side by side tests.
I'll see what I have for seed stock and get ready for a more accurate test.
I have a decent seed selection, maybe a longer flowering sativa would be a better candidate for the test?
Suggestions are welcome.
