How big will a plant grow in this?

And how many plants can fit in it? I bought a black garden mat to go under. It's 3.25 ft long not sure how tall. I believe it's untouched red wood.

Maybe 10 lb bags will it take to fill?

I had a bigger bed in mind but this is a just cheap start to see how things will go.

Don't roots usually grow out instead of down? Can I just plant a clone in the middle, or two next to each other?

When you put too many plants close together the yield doesn't always provide more... One or two plants in that space are a plenty - they will fill out.
I'd be tempted to go with one plant that I was sure was a female - Going with seed I'd plant three trying to get at least one female for sure - Then pull the males.

image.jpeg Will this grow bigger than the 5 gallon fabric cloth pots?

Should I buy the root powder and holder and clone my own and have to wait for the roots to get set before planting or pay $16 for a candyland or strawberry cough clone? Mine are SLH.

You have a few options... My choice would be to leave them in their pots... They won't grow any bigger in the box and they could get stunted in the transplant.
Cloning from them if you know they are female sounds like a good plan. Many years ago I was 30% successful using powder. Now they get dipped in cloning gel the put into a 32X eZclone. You might have better luck with gel. Amazon has decent prices for cloning gel...

Drill out plenty of holes for drainage in the box. Improper drainage will get you fungus - then fungus gnats.

Happy Farming!

ok you have 2 posts going at once ? I see your not going to spend any money to get a real garden . plant those plants directly into the ground . for get that wood

I'd dig down about 2 feet set the box around hole and backfill with premo soil then plant one plant in there unless they are bag seed then I plant three per whole so I can cut the male and the runt and leave the biggest

Size will have more to do with how long you beg and the pot size.
If those plants are clones they may grow "out" some more as they don't have a tap root BUT, they will still grow "down".
If from seed. They will have a tap root and want to grow down more.

So bottom line that set up is woefully shallow...

I agree with Cob. Those pots or up pot to 10 or more gallons.....Out doors - 20+

It's not deep enough. The bags are better than that IMO. If like suggested, you could dig down farther then yes it will work.
