A lot of nutrient lines seem crazy and uneeded

Hello, I have been pouring over the net researching. I spend a lot of time on YouTube like I imagine plenty of others do who are learning. My favorite right now is vadarvision from open grown I believe. Anyhow, a lot of these nutrient lines have like 5+ bottles of different things you add. Are they all reall needed? I guess that's not the correct question, I already know they are not needed since I have grown successfully just using 1 fertilizer throughout the grow. What I should be asking is do they make that much of a difference?

I recently purchased calmag and some pro-silica. But I'm wondering if I'm just falling for good marketing.

I grow in 70 % coco 20 % perlite 10% worm castings and use tap water that is ph at 7. Foxfarm grow big

I really don't think this is a yes or no type of question. There are as many different grow styles, medium preferences, nutrient/fertilizer preferences etc as there are growerz. I doubt there are any growerz out there doing the identical methods as another grower. That is one of the best things about cultivating our own medicine...we make all the choices.

Can anybody say Advanced Nutrients? House & Garden?

Sure, they work! (pretty ok as a base nutrient)

NO! you don't need all that shit to do as well as THEY say they do!

I liked Silica a LOT for synthetic runs. It improved plant strength and health....Ca/Mg is for hydro or really poor soils and that's about it.

I use canna a n b,seaweed (plants love that shit) calmag ,silica n add a little canna mono trace round week 3 of flowering n maybe some pk but at low doses till the plant says she's had enough but thas it.feed till the end don't flush happy days solid nugs. No need for fancy stuff but saying that ive had some finicky plants so had to get a few random canna mono ranges like P n shit like that

I figure rick likes using more simple nutes .....

Thanks for the responses. I think I will just focus on improving my environment and continue using a regular fertilizer with just the calmag and silica additives sparingly. No need to go crazy.

This was a recent grow. Snow Fruit. I want to bring out the best flavors from each plant so I guess it's why I feel after watching the videos I might be missing something by not using an expensive line of ferts. I grow medicine just for my self. So it's purely an expense in my budget.

Will they work? Probably.

Do you need em? Probably not.

Farmers have been using soil and compost/manure as the medium to grow most anything for 1000's of years. Guess what? i recon it will still work tomorrow.

Silica shoots up ph up something awful n stays in the cell walls so she's not mobile so small regular doses help alot..I use it to adjust my ph at times lol

Best flavours involve far 2 many variables but soil will give the nicest taste but also the variety of the snow fruit plays a part so focus on good airiated soil.by a basic line of nutes n get a ph kit n gear. U should really check out the noobs section.well help u here but we may use terms you've no idea of that may seem overwhelming so take it step by step.

Same has fishing dude, most of the fishing gear is to catch the angler not the fish.
=============================================================

Keep thing's simple ,all i use are
-------------------------------------------
canna a/b.
big bud.
pk 13/14 .
Aloe vera plant for cloning, has rooting gel, soak the cube's in a leaf's juice a a ltr of water ,dip the clone straight into the juice they love the stuff roots are lovely white, and root faster
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Far less problem's put more effort into promoting good root's with something like a compressor or a fish tank pump, air going to them via air ring Just put a air ring in the bottom of any pot then a layer of larva rock or clay balls, perlite then soil,or what ever medium you use. Also air in the nutrient's once mixed,it makes a massive difference.
