seems like it would be fairly easy to build a rosin press. cheap-o hydraulic press from harbor freight. not sure about the heat part. maybe 2 clothes irons taken apart and attached to the press? i saw one on craigslist new for like $1300. seemed way too much for what you get.
A lot of people simply use two metal blocks, then heat those to the desired temperature. I suspect that dropping the blocks in boiling water for a few minutes would get the temp up to where you'd need it.

I'm thinking if they dye is a metal block with a press from HF like you said I would just heat the outside with a torch and use my laser thermometer to measure the temp. I would think that block would hold heat well and distribute it evenly. I'm trying to be cheap as always. Gotta find a way to do it for less than $100

I didn't even see your reply before I shot one out. Yeah, that's what I'm figuring.

i thought i read 180 but i wasn't sure if it was F or C. it was somebody using a hair straightener on the video i saw. results looked good though.
Ok, that makes sense. I'm sure it's F.

I used to get hash in Germany when I lived there in high school. I remember it being super hard, sometimes thin like a hershey bar. That's what I want. It would be cool to press a logo or shape into the bars. I just imagine a freezer stocked with hash bars. You know, just in case.

Interesting that you run so little calcium nitrate. You don't get N or calcium deficiencies?
Across the board no.

One of my Fruity Chronic cookies is displaying a Ca def. and one of my girl scout cookie haze is displaying an N def.

But that could be pH as the GSC Haze drifts from 5.6 to 6.8 daily and some days I dont adjust and it goes from 6.8 to 7.2.

Fruity Chronic Cookie #1 is most likely a real deficiency. #2 looks healthy AF though.

GSCH #1 and #3 arent showing N def.

yeah, F makes more sense now too. C would probably melt hair, not straighten it. lol.

i used to get hash in Copenhagen like that. pressed out thin. i forget what was stamped into it.

I've found that leaves in the shade will claw and leaves in direct light won't on the same plant, so I go by what's in the light.
ive also noticed that as well. these were all over. sugar leaves. fan leaves.

usually the leaves in the shade are lime green. or leaves between the bud and main stalk which is also in the shade.

Both fruity chronic cookies showing Ca deficiency. And one is showing N def. Gave them both 0.4EC of CaNO3 (1.5g/gal) and 0.8EC 5-11-26 (3g/gal) and the usualy epsom salt and MKP dosage.

But ive been having the pH 6.0+ and been doing res changes every 4 to 5 days on the ones under HPS and only adjusting once between then. Cant quit confirm its due to nute shortage or lack of maintenance.

GSCH #3 is good. Showing slight tip burn from concentration rising towards last gallo or so and the buds are growing whispy. Think its too warm under those lights. Need to put the AC in I think before these are done.

GSCH #2 is showing N def. but GSCH#1 isnt.

Gave them 1.5g/gal CaNO3 as well.
