Korvette, I saw your pics in another AG thread. One word.....AWESOME. I dont' know how your plants stayed so short and bushy, but from now on, whatever you say is THE LAW. Did you stay with the AG nutes? I can't remember the details of what you wrote elsewhere. Also, did you just stay with the AG lights for the veg stage? I'm assuming that you went to flower at the time of these pictures.

Nope they have been vegging for 21 days .Im putting them into flower today I topped them at 7-8 days and yea the ag nutes and lights ..

I just radically altered my set-up. As noted, I bought a 250 watt HPS along with another appliance timer. Also added another airstone. To accomodate these as well as creating more breathing space for my larger plants, I got a second AG (which they just started selling my country, but unfortunately, it's the older model).

I set up the second AG with pH'ed water of 6.0 and added two AG nutrient tablets. I plugged in an airstone and hung the HPS light above it with a timer set to 12/12. I then moved my three biggest plants to this one. But I did not attach the stand for the lights, because I wanted to place the lamp hood on its side as side-lighting. I then put the AG lamp hood on an appliance timer set to 12/12.

Next I covered up all the empty holes, and put my original AG with its four smaller plants back on veg mode.

The problem is that the water pump is not working in the new (second) AG. I called the service center and they told me to ship it back to them to get a replacement. What a pain in the ass. Good thing that the plants in the second AG have big enough roots, so that all the roots are submerged in water, but still this is disappointing.

Maybe I should just get a refund for the second AG, and buy something called a waterfarm, which I read about in the other threads.

I say build your own...

It does not look as pretty, but you can have 100% of the functionality of the AG, without the big bucks...

There are many designs... and even the kits sold on the web consist of buckets, hoses, connectors, etc... for a mere $600...

I like the tupperware idea, but I would like to see a deeper dish, with more room for the roots... But if it has to be small...

Adapt, create, and you may save a ton of money...

So I would use the AG with the working water pump to root your clones...

And build something else to put under the 250 Watt HPS...

Do you have adequate ventilation?

with out that,your stems will tend not to harden up and support the weight.

It could also be the genetics of the plants,i get this occasionally,and to combat that (this is goin to sound weird but it works all the time) i take a razor blade and put small vertical cuts into the stems that are superficial and this causes the plant to heal its self and expand,basicly its like a rose opening to be used as a metaphore,you will permanatly have scars but it will remind u of how much u really care to hurt ur plant to only make it 2x better than what it originally was.

you can also use the razor method for lstn,horizontal cuts tend to make it easier for the stems to snap in half,when the stem is thick as fuck is when u can horizontal cut,and the scars will look cool like a bamboo plant and it will benifit more over than vertical cuttin at this point.the stem should be like 2-3cm thick when u do horizontal cuttin.

check the ventilation first before you try extreme measurements.

Wacky, I guess you always hurt the ones you love. I have a fan going in my room, and I open the window every now and then. I thought the main point was just to put an oscillating fan in the room to move the air around. Right now, I'm not sure I can even cut a little; they look so weak. My tallest plant once again was drooped over at the top part where it had grown since the last time it drooped. I propped it up again and moved my straw/support up a little, but I'm afraid of what it's gonna look like when I get home tonight.

try stakin them up and give them some cuts then u wont have to worry about collapse,then theyll heal,harden and ease your worried mind

I would recommend that you build it...

If you have a lot of money to spare, make your home made look super...

You will be spending a lot of unnecessary money to buy a ready made system...

But if you must buy...

I cannot recommend one... I have always been outside in the dirt...
This is my first year leaving the dirt outside and moving everything to the great indoors...

Just build one like Wolfman Zen did...

It would cost you thousands to buy a ready made system that does what his does... and it all home made....

I hear ya, Gypsy. But the problem is when you don't live in a country that has Home Depot or a local hydro store, etc. It's tough to find stuff to DIY (the local department store had airstones, but getting the light required a long drive to the industrial part of the city and look for the right handyman stores), and even then you gotta go to the right neighborhood and ask for directions. And then you have to explain why you want to build some such thing. And I still have no stand to put the light on. I gotta go to another neighborhood and ask around there. Just getting back and forth to these places is an all-day affair.

I know it depends on the size of the cab, but give me an idea of what would be perfect...

Hey, Gypsy, if I remove the lamp hood on the AG, I guess I want them to grow to the sky, as long as the reservoir can hold their roots. I dont' know what's the tallest plant anyone has grown in the AG, but I'm guessing 2-2.5 feet??

By the way, I'm using Skunk and Early Queen which I bought online.

Also, it seems as if the lamp hood can only be removed with a screwdriver, but the lamp hood and stem which holds it upright can be snapped easily into place when you first take the AG out of the box, by way of plastic hook which just snaps into place when pushed in. Is there anyway to undo this plastic snap more easily after it has already been snapped together?

How are your plants coming along? Wanna show us newbies how it's done?

Hman, I saw someone on here (maybe TEK), that had full size plants on their AG...

If you move the hood and hang it on chains, you get more room, but you will need to also light the bottom parts of the plant...

Those lights will not be enough by themselves...

You can just wiggle it carefully and the hood will unsnap from the stem... no need for tools, but be careful you don't break the little tab...

As for showing anyone how it is done, I am just learning too, I am brand new to indoor growing, and a micro-garden, even just a few months ago, was an alien concept... We are all exchanging ideas and learning from each other's mistakes...

I will gladly share all of my madness, but I will not pretend I know more than I do... which is damn near nothing... I am just not the guy to show anyone how it's done...

Well, back to the madness...

I am working on a project, a single bubbleponic unit that will house a Mother and 7 rooting clones... with this, we will be able to endlessly supply our AGs with freshly rooted clones that are ready to go into flowering...

I am also messing around with the idea of sliding the roots inside of a coiled tube, so the 6 foot roots can fit in a 3 foot space...

Like I said give me a little bit of time and I shall reveal the nature of my Kung-Fu...lol...

Gypsy, how about that idea about putting the roots into nylon panty hose? As long as the roots are still immersed in the nutrients and properly pH'ed water, wouldn't that work?

I attached some updated pics. The first two pics are of my four smaller plants which I put back into veg mode in the original AG (after about 3 days of flowering, so I'm hoping that's not gonna cause them too much stress; they look healthy right now).

The next three pics are of my second AG with the three tallest plants including the biggest one in the back which has had two occurrences of limp-noodle-itis. These pics came out weird because of the new 250watt light, I guess. But anyway, as you can see, I never attached the lamp hood and lamp hood stem. I just stood the lamp hood on its side to give the plants side lighting.

No replies yet, so I guess I'll reply to myself. I got the second AG up and running and put both of them under my new 400 watt HPS. I also propped up the AG lamp hoods behind each plant to some extra side lighting. Got a fan oscillating on them 24/7, and an airstone in each. Feeding them the AG nutes every week, and refilling reservoir every two days. Do ya think I got the main lamp too far above the plants? The big plants in the white AG are already two weeks into flowering, but still can't tell the sex.
