Help Fungus Gnat Issue 31 days into flower

Hi all, very new to this. My plant Master Kush started to look as though it had nutrient burn so started to flush her (grown in soil). She was getting worse and worse, leaves were curling at the tips and brown edges. It was only after trawling through the internet that I realized that I had fungus gnat, none flying around but when digging through the top layer found the little buggers. I have now treated the soil but she has lost a lot of colour over the last few days and leaves are still dropping off. She is 31 days into flower, is it worth sticking with her or start again from fresh. Some new growth is dark but not all.IMG0056A.jpg IMG0058A.jpg

might as well finish it out...it sort of look likes your soil may be to "hot" (nutrient rich) for your plant.but its only another month, it may struggle through, yield will be hurting though....I believe I see a tent, and my suggestion would be to add a fan to have air movement below canopy/soil....your soil might be staying to wet also, which is always a good guess when gnats get involved...usually 2-3 days with a fan blowing on the dirt gets rid of them, and let your pot totally dry out before watering again, will help kill them off also...diamataceous earth sprinkled over the top of the soil is a good killer, but won't stop them from hatching eggs...a BTI would be be good also, I use MicrobeLIFT (a few drops in your water will kill them off) you can also use Mosquito Dunks, but they need to be crushed up, thats why I prefer the drops...my first grow I expected a pound, got 5 ounces out of 1k.. considerably better now...took a few hundred grows to get a pretty solid symbiotic mindset for the girls, now its old hat! :)

Thank you for this, I will stick with her as this is my 2nd grow,my first went hermaphrodite on me right at the very end. But hey it's a learning curve to get used to.

Is it worth removing the damaged leaves or not?

I am a firm believer and practitioner of defoliating...but I generally only do it while growing in tents as space is an issue...if done properly and with a real plan of attack it can be beneficial...but there are a lot of factors...1 constant I've always found to be true, if the plant doesn't take well to Topping, then it will be crippled by defoliation, and the ones that spring back in a day or so are GREAT candidates...but this is my own observations with my situation, and well since I don't have PhD on my name don't take what I say as gospel, or what anyone says, but its easy to pick people trying to help over trolls anyways :)

I've heard good things about defoliating, but I think I'm far to a novice to have go at it (and scared). I was going to try topping on my next grow (can only do one plant at a time) I have a few seeds either White Island or Vanilla Kush or attempt another Master Kush grow.

I've read that citric acid is good for killing fungus in a pH 5 solution. They use it with sugar solutions when they add it to soil to increase beneficial bacterial growth or whatever. That way a bunch of fungus won't grow from the sugar. I wonder how Fungus Gnats would react to it. Pretty acidic. Might mess em right up. At least it might get rid of some fungus that draws them.

What I use is a combination of yellow sticky strips and mosquito dunks. I just break a chunk of dunk off and crumble it into the nutrient water and mix. You have to keep doing it every few weeks though. It does cut them way back though.

I always forget about the yellow stickies...pretty bad when a case is staring right at me :)
Yeah the yellow stickies are vital in the war against fungus gnats. When you see them plastered with flies you realize how many would have been around if those stickies weren't there. When they get full I take two of them and stick the fly sides together, sealing them for eternity and making them easy to throw away without them sticking to stuff.

Found Patient Zero, I have about 20 house plants, and I have gone over every one with a fine tooth comb, and one Ivy plant to my horror is invested. She is now living outside until she can be treated, and now a close eye will be kept on all.

I'm gonna be straight up honest....i felt they were very overpriced....till I found them in a store room at a college my old lady and I were attending...after 20 years and however long they were buried in storage...they still stick like champs! Please don't brand me a thief, I was a starving college kid with no money! :)
