So this is next to the door. The branches are starting to fall over, as I expected they would do. Although inside the room they are holding each other up better than I expected. So it's not really turning out the way it did in my head which was super amazing, but I think she'll turn out ok still image.jpeg

Here was yesterday's pic. Got home a little late so it's kinda shady. I started the count a little early I think, she wasn't quite settled and I also topped all of her branches around day 5. She looks like she's switching into blow up mode though. When she starts throwing out them fat leaves u know the shows begun! The burn looking marks are actually wind damage. She got the shit beat out of her the first few days. image.jpeg

I guess I never posted day 6, but I was looking back and u can see her tops in this one were about to say "see ya!" That's when I topped all her branches and said hey baby spread that energy! She's got enough to go around! image.jpeg

So here's the pros and cons of root riot vs rockwool for you guys.

Rockwool
Pros: cheaper, easier. Longer staying ability without transplant.
Cons: slower to root, harder to check roots, heavy

Root riot
Pros: convenient, faster rooting.
Cons: dries out quicker. Trays need more attention. needs transplant much sooner.

I have some of the root riot plugs already rooted and settling in soil at 7 days. None of the rockwool cubes are showing yet which doesn't mean they aren't rooted, just not poking through the bigger sized cube yet.

For any home user and myself I think the root riots are the way to go. I transplant quickly after rooting so that's not an issue for my own grows. Like I said though I'm making this switch for volume and I need to know I can leave cuts in a tray for a week or 2 after rooting and I just can't do that easily with root riots.

good to know. Im kinda hooked on aero cloning at the moment too. I am suprised there is not more of a market for teens in cups. talk about instant big plant in flower. :-)

BTW looks the srs is looking great. will be coming down this weekend me thinks. her and several others are ready. I may need a second drying rack. LOL

I liked the rapid rooters more than root riots. The root riots are denser than rapid rooters . They take longer to root. Less successful rate with root riots compared to rapid rooters .

Rockwool is spun rock. Hazardous when dry. It changes the flavor of most plant .

Can I ask your routine from seed to SIP....?

I tried going from solo cup to SIP skipping one up pot in between with one of my plants which was the biggest of 4 and now the runt is the same size as it in a 1 gal pot. The one in the SIP just barely started drinking today so hopefully she takes off soon, but I was just curious for some feedback from a fellow SIP'er........

Seems to me seed/solo cup, then to 1-2 gal, then move to SIP would work good right...?

Just trying to learn some more here to make the SIP process better than it already is.

I fill up a cup with soil. Place the germinated seed on top. Then put a layer of wet coco over that. Then Let it sprout.

Then once the roots fill out the cup I transplant to a 1 gal pot. Then to the sip after that.
