New seedlings ready for outdoors and repotting help

I used 9oz clear tumbler cups just to start the plants off so i could get a visual sight of root growth and know when to repot definitively. They will be placed in darker nursery pots for their main vegetative and flowering phase.
Stick with your see through cups, but wrap some dark paper/plastic bag round cups, - your roots will grow quicker and you just unwrap now n again to check roots..! Hope this helps.. btw plants are looking good.! ;-) Happy growing,
Gaz

An update on the plants. They are growing well and seem pretty damn happy. They stand about 7-8 inches tall. Anyone got any advice or just keep doing what I'm doing? I have yet to start a fertilizer regimen. On another note, i ordered a couple auto fem seeds so hopefully those Will come in. This is my test run with just bagseed, hoping to learn a little before those seeds get here.

When are you transferring them to their final pot, and what size are you planning on using? Those are ready when you are.

Looks like you're using about a 2 gallon - 5 gallon pot. Guys here growing the largest trees are using 400 gallon cloth pots to grow 12 foot monsters. I've used as little as 7.5 gallon pots when I needed to keep my plants small due to the small grow area I had and my plants grew to about 5 - 5 1/2 feet tall and produced excellent smoke.

Your plants are looking good. Your feeding will depend on how hot your soil is. {if you have already posted the soil make-up, sorry} But they are old enough for a little food. They will be ready to top soon.

My soil is half ocean forest and happy frog, as Jozikins suggested earlier. Also got the maxsea line he mentioned as well. I added 6tbsp of mykos to the soil, 6tbsp to 3 gallons. They are currently putting out the 6th and 7th node, but the 5th node is still the main contender. Should i wait till the 6th node is full and the 7th and 8th node are working out their from the 6th node to top? I feel Like They aren't growing that vigorously, but then again I've never done this. I do feel Like They could use that feeding, but at what strength? Half? They Will need to be watered in about a day or two so id like to know before then. Check out the picture after this post to check out the node count. Let me know! Thanks

Your plant looks good. She is ready to top anytime now. I don't have a hard and set rule for what node to top at. Just wait until the top is big enough for easy sniping. Half strength sounds fine on the nutes.

Ill top within the next few days, and i just gave them a feeding, 1/2 tbsp to 3 quarts of water. Ill be sure to take pictures. I know i asked when to top, but what about where? Down to the 3rd? 2nd?

I have them currently in 1 gallon pots actually, and i would Like to use a 5 gallon pot as the end pot size. I want to keep the plants pretty small. One day id like to try growing a monster, but that's not today. I should be getting my seeds tomorrow, both autoflower strains. Im hoping for a lot of knowledge from you veteran growers as these seeds actually cost money, and the ones growing right now are just seeds someone gave me.

Some do that, but I don't. If those are at 7 nodes now, I would top at 5. And I top as often as the growth will bear. After the new tops grow out 6-9 inches, I top them again. I keep on topping until they are near flower.

I've never grown auto's, so I won't be much help to you there. But there are many on here who have.

And my BST2 {Bag Seed Testers #2} seeds are looking pretty good. I'm hoping to make seeds, just in case it turns out to be good. It's fat and stinky for it's age.

5 gallon pots are pretty small and your plants will get pretty root bound. You may also have issues with them blowing over in a moderate wind if you don't support them properly. I do recommend you consider the 7.5 or 10 gallon pots for the increase in soil, and the stability of a wider base. The plants will still be a very manageable size for you. Ultimately it's totally your choice but I figured you wouldn't mind a little free advice based on experience.

I grow for personal use only and totally agree with the idea of growing 3 - 5 smaller plants of different varieties. I doubt I will ever use a pot larger than 10 gallons but it's awesome to look at some of these guys posting 12 foot monsters grown in 400 gal bags. The idea of growing large plants in large pots makes sense to a commercial grower, especially if where they live has a per plant or per square foot limitation on their grow.

Good luck and happy growing.

I didn't think about the wind factor. Ill look more into the 7.5 and 10 gallon pots and will probably go with them to be safe. Thank you for that advice, all is welcomed.

I patrolled areas in Afghanistan that had crops of these monsters. They don't harvest the buds like we do though, don't really even comprehend it. They take acres of these trees and turn the entire crop into hash. "Hasheesh," as they call it. I would love to grow gigantic plants someday.
