how long can u leave a seed in tissue germing

ok so got a plate put some seeds on it they all gracked got white shoot and are swelling nicly started 5 days ago but only just ordered my soil and worried the seeds are gonna be fkked before my soil gets here any suggestions on how long u cankeep these in tissue was thiking of garden soil as a temp measure but im really unsure

I would use garden soil if it were me. Them tap roots are fragile.

well just ordered says one day delivery which should be sat seeing as its 4 am friday in uk now if that fails tho im screwed as it will be monday so looking id say 3 to 4 days max so will of been in tissue over a week

see my main concern wasnt so much the garden soil not being too good its more if theres anything thats gonna eat my seeds in it and it contaminating the new soil on transfer lol

3 n half cm approx one seed looks like its splitting and it starting to look for light other 2 still just look half split

Its your call. I think I would chance the garden soil. I think waiting to long in paper towel is certain death. Maybe someone else can help. May @Bbcchance can offer some assistance

my last seeds didnt go so quick but trust me all part of the lurning curve just been reading a thread that says top soil too heavy so maybe some multi purpose compost is better im no soil expert

so looking like its gonna be one in a tissue in a ziplock in fridge one in ziplock somewhere warm and the other left in topsoil ill answer whos works or fails next week lol they not looking brownish yet @daloudpack been in 5 days now thats why i just want the best suggestions on saving them got the chance of steralised topsoil and ive been given the ziplock bag idea love how creative u guys are here will add its only as a temp till my bat soil comes on hopefully 1 day delivery

Not in the fridge though.
The Fridge will chill the growing seed

and send it dormant

ideal: waiting for the delayed soil to arrive

on arrival simply leave it on your bench for 10-30 minutes to warm up

then insert to a prepped solo cup with ample drainage

the 'Moist' fridge trick, works well with cuttings and or scions for grafts
