Problems with grey mold in Europe

Over the past few years I have always had massive problems with mold. Despite chosing strains that are supposed to be mold resistant I got grey mold right before the harvest. The problem is the weather getting quite cool and rainy at the end of the flowering period. I am sick and tired of losing half of my harvest to botrytis.

Has anybody had good experiences with herbicides? What would you recommend?

Thanks!

Eagle20 should help prevent that.. But BEWARE it's a harsh chemical that should only be used during the vegatative state (use it during their stretch, right before they start showing pistils) it's systematic and should last 1-1.5 months. If you want to use something in flower use greencure. Completely organic and works great! If you use eagle20, I would have to recommend NOT using the trim for concentrates (since at this point it's been contaminated) although, I've read articles on tobacco where they say after 30 days of rain/the weather getting to it, it wipes all the chemicals off.. Idk on that one, I'd always rather be safe than sorry.

Good luck!

An even better solution imo is covering them with greenhouse plastic to keep the rain/hail off.. Unless it's a guerilla grow.

I'd rather lose the whole crop than spray that eagle20 poison on anything... Serenade works pretty good.
It's pretty harsh stuff for sure. I wasn't really recommending it.. Just giving options as to what was out there.
If you've ever smoked a store bought cigarette/cigar before, there's a really good chance you've smoked stuff with eagle20 before.. I've read a lot of articles on commercial tobacco farmers using that stuff and stuff harsher all the way up to a month before harvest.. It's terrible, no wonder tobaccos so bad for you.

I've used serenade with not so good results, but I've heard of people really praising it and having excellent results with it.

Plenty of good organic options out there regardless.. Or just cover the top with greenhouse plastic. Even the organic stuff will effect the taste of your buds which is why I don't like spraying anything During flower period.

Thanks for your replies!

Unfortunately we don't have Serenade in Europe. There are however some fungicides that have the same active ingredient as Eagle 20 with way lower concentrations. I might try that on one plant.

Any other recommendations for less toxic stuff?

Covering the plants with greenhouse plastic isn't possible since it's a guerilla grow.

What do you think of Bayer Teldor?

By grey mold do you mean botrytis or powdery mildew? Not much will help for bud rot (botrytis) except for proper genetics and keeping your plants dry. I live in one of the rainiest towns of the USA, bud rot is an issue we all deal with here, even when our plants are kept totally out of the rain.

For non-toxic powdery mildew options
-100 % Cold Pressed Neem Oil emulsified with a little liquid Silica (like dyna gro protekt or agsil16h) or Yucca Extract is the go to for most organic guys.
-JMS Stylet Oil works good for PM and Mites (OMRI Listed also)

spray and water in with "Actinovate" http://www.planetnatural.com/product/actinovate-lawn-garden/ to prevent it in the first place. now use this http://doctorzymes.com/ to kill the mold and clean up the buds and they don't leave harmful shit on the plants.

In my experience, I havent found actinovate to be very useful for anything except for helping with pythium and damping off. Also, They got bought out by Monsanto a few years ago if that sort of thing bothers you.

I meant botrytis. Have you tried any fungicides?

I don't like spraying anything in late flower, it usually will affect taste in the final product. If a strain doesn't make it to harvest without rotting, I simply move on to something else and try again. It sounds like you need a strain that finishes quickly enough to beat your cold rainy season.

that's good to know now Beyer is trying to buy Monsanto soon what won't they own. I have used Actinovate for years with good results I spray the plants and water in every few weeks and right when they start flowering.
