Hey Guys,

1st Post..

Well I got 4 scenarios for my soil scrog 5x9 Gorilla Grow tent. Which would you recommend for light coverage?

A. (3) 600w HPS

B. (2) P600 LEDs on the edge and (1) 600w HPS in the center

C. (2) 1000w HPS

D. (3) P600 LEDs

Thoughts? Advice? Thanks in advance.

I got the 5x9 and I'm running a pro9 and a Johnson cx9 but I'm doing grow buckets on 1 side and flood table on the other

hmm well seems you guys are much more knowledgable and learned than me as i don't really know about CMH lights. seems interesting. Would running 4 315 CMH's cause any heat issues in a 5x9 tent- air being pumped in will range from 69-73

I live in a hot climate. I have two tents running in my office. Each tent has open/passive intake and 4" carbon filter and exhaust fan setup. I have a portable a/c set to 74 the tents exhaust into the room the ac outside. House ac is always at 76 and there's a vent in this room. My CMH tent never passes 84 with lights on and the same with the veg tent running the 8 bulb T5. At night lights out of course cooler temps. If needed I can still exhaust out of the room from the tents for even cooler temps and put the portable ac to run on high (it's on low right now) and run it cooler. My exhaust fans are also on controllers and only run halfway as to not make a shit load of noise and my temps are fine and stable now. This is what is working for me in a tropical environment so to speak.

You need to see what your geography gives you to play with and what you're able to setup. If you can do a sealed room that big then it doesn't matter because you can design it to do what you want specifically.

Just my newb $0.02

I run a 5x9 with 2 x 1000w. Heat is an issue. So i cool my lights independantly with one 8" 720 cfm inlinw fan... and run 12000 btu window a/c unit.

yeah I think I am gonna stay away from the heat of HPS...

the more I look into Amare and Johnson LED grow lights the more impressed I am. $3K in lights though? lol oh boy.

LED do not have the canopy penetration distance of HPS. Get the 1k's for fully nugged sativa spears or hybrids, but 3 600's might be ok/better if you mainly do indica SOG's.

2 x 1k HPS best all around IMO.

How about you learn to crawl before you learn to run...

If you don't even understand some basic terms these guys are throwing around how are you going to handle a Op that big... You'll be screaming on these forums for help....

But just try out 2 600w... Master the environment and understand the technique.

Do you have the ventilation all planned out?
Soil? Nutes ? Hand water? Flood table ? DWC?

Not raining on you but just get your feet on the ground first ya dig ?

This is not my first grow... my first indoor yes and my first with COB LED's I pretty much have everything figured out except my lighting..

I believe I stated in OP that this will be a SCROG soil grow.

Got all my venting and fans figured out...

Being my first indoor grow I know nothing about artificial lighting... hence why I was looking at Bullshit LEDs to begin with.

Leaning right now towards (4) Amare Pro4's.
