Looks great in there. Everything looks green and happy. Here is an update as I wait for my 4th light to arrive. As soon as it does, the 1000 is coming out and the 600 is going back in!
I think the affordability and the modularity of your current mailbox regime is inspired! I love the idea of being able to move the COBs in pairs to cover different spaces, adjust intensity and even to compensate for canopy irregularities.Yea, man. I'm loving it!
I love how you're growing right up against concrete haha. You oughtta invest in some white poly to hang there buddy! Or even mylar! Here is an update as I wait for my 4th light to arrive. As soon as it does, the 1000 is coming out and the 600 is going back in!
Fuck, me too. My veg is all grey concrete foundation walls lolI love how you're growing right up against concrete haha. You oughtta invest in some white poly to hang there buddy! Or even mylar!
Wasted photons... shame.Fuck, me too. My veg is all grey concrete foundation walls lol
Less than you might think; since my modules use 80 degree lenses, the light is well directed onto the canopy. Less light is wasted, reducing the need for reflective walls.Wasted photons... shame.
I have the kb80's too. I can tell you right now, they do not focus the light in to 80*. No way. Which is why I switched to angelinas. The lenses throw light all over.Less than you might think; since my modules use 80 degree lenses, the light is well directed onto the canopy. flat white is better than mylar,i would just leave it or better yet paint another coat on if you dont think its white enough yet.You can't really tell from the photos, but the concrete is painted flat white. I almost bought some Mylar last week. Might be a good project for next week...
I am contemplating grabbing one of these in the next few weeks to add to the mix:

These are only $299 for the next month at Northern Lights.
Stick with white walls. Hard bounce is for reflectors. I use panda and orca film. You can't really tell from the photos, but the concrete is painted flat white. I almost bought some Mylar last week. Might be a good project for next week...

Same here. My 225W COB LED modules grow plants better than a Mars Hydro 1600 LED, pulling 550W from the wall.Isn't it cool to see how well the plants respond to COB lights? My plants are the happiest they have ever been under any kind of lighting since I switched.
Orca film is amazing stuff!
Good for you man! Glad to see you're committed to losing those HID lights! So, next week I'll most likely have 2 new lights I pulled the trigger on that Vero Photon 180 so I am excited for that. I think my 4th mailbox is probably just about ready, too. That will make it 4 mailboxes at 110 or so whats each and the 180 photon. Thats a total of 620 watts... probably one or 2 more I'll be HID-free!
Puts a whole new spin on the phrase, "blowing up mailboxes", doesn't it?So, next week I'll most likely have 2 new lights I pulled the trigger on that Vero Photon 180 so I am excited for that.
