How am I trolling you? Wtf? I simply gave you a reason as to why he should NOT use Pin sinks as you so blaintently shut down my thought to use a bar. You made me sound stupid for even mentioning it, when in this case it's a MUCH BETTER option.

Those pin heat sinks aren't that great really. They're actually designed to be used in a tilted position. They get little air flow when vertical, because the bottom, where the COB attaches, is solid, no air holes. If you compare the specs to those of the Mechatronix ones, which are sort of a spiral design, you'll see that they have lower thermal resistance than the pins. The pins are good for what they're designed for, just not for vertical applications. I really don't know why they're so popular. They are far from being the best option available.
Same with those finned heat sinks people used for a while, the kind you buy by the foot. They only really work well when they are vertical so that air flows upward between the fins, meaning the COBs would be shining sideways.

Yeah with fans they're fine. Could probably just use a flat sheet of aluminum if you have fans on it really. I just don't like idea of blowing heat around. Kind of like it to go straight up where it will do less harm.Once you add fans, they work wonders!View attachment 3717150

For such a limited height I would go with the Samsung hard strips - they are awesome and they give off such a nice even diffuse light. Buy a few, run them fairly soft at 700mA and you can almost have the plants touching them without burning. Like this you can maximise your use of the space. good luck

Check out ngtled use one of the corn cob lights I'd say up to 100w and then train 3 or 4 plants around your light source. Basically a mini vertical grow
