labs / em1 (lactobacillus serum) step 2 ferment done. Now to activate. Add brown sugar and water and ferment for another 3 weeks .

20:1:1 water : brown sugar : labs

I'll end up making 25 gallons from this batch. So if I activate all of it I'll have some to give away. I have another batch currently in step 2 now. Once activated it's good for 3 months at room temp. Not activated it will be good for 1 year in the fridge. But takes 3 weeks to activate / ferment.

I see you have ladybugs, I have given up on them, always dying in the fans and stuff, they create a mess. I am getting 2000 persimilis and 2000 californicus delivered every 2 weeks, seems to do the trick to control spider mites, even thrips seem a little more under control. ( californicus are known to also feed on thrips, and persimilis :/ ) but overall they seem to work together well in my dryish warmish environment. Hyroot might know this but for others that might not know, I have not started over in over 4 years now, always introducing new plants, harvesting plants, its been perpetual for years and I have never lost a full crop, only the odd plant I would give up on here and there but anyway, just to say, beneficial insects do work.

The shop I get them from has been out for months. I went in there yesterday to get shade cloth and saw they had ladybugs. so I got some. it's more of a preventative so I don't have to meticulously foliar spra . With the gnarly heat outside I occasionally get white flies. Last time they showed up I got rid of them with neem and labs. During flower. spraying the leaves and not getting the buds is so tedious and takes hours. so lady bugs.

I have never sprayed (well I did try way back then), beneficial insects is my only tool against pests. I get mine in the mail, every 2 weeks, I don't even have to think about it. The standing order is the best thing I have ever done for the grow, that and COBs, of course!!

I dont mean to clog your thread, one more sip question, do you have to wait until reservoir nearly emptied or is it ok to top it up any time I think about it? I do have the overflow hole so stagnant water is never in contact with the medium.

I spray with a local companies seaweed + fish + essential oilz product every other day. (Feed and pest preventative) In organics, we know that itz the type of style to attract bugz (as itz nature) well ive been battling thripz for yearz...but in the last 6 weekz...i have never had such mark free leaves as i have now. I would consider predator mites as a possibility if i had a problem...but not as a preventative.

Please explain... :)

ipm integrated pest management. which is a system of preventatives . Neem cake in the soil. and using a series of foliars and drenches, tea's, ferments, essential oils. separately Neem, kelp, nettles, comfrey, peppermint, horse tail, lavender, rosemary , labs. etc....

knf is korean natural farming.

Name might be a little misleading as it goes by korean ipm farming, korean imo farming, or korean natural farming, but its basically beneficial bacteria that you grow and then introduce to your plants to make them healthy enough to fight off bugs that normally would eat them to death. But there's more benefits than helping the plants repealing insects as we all know getting a strong microbial foundation in the soil helps the uptake of nutrients.

Generally there's three stages of korean ipm or imo but at any stage it can be added to the soil. Its rather quick way to get beneficial microbes in the soil that will help the plant through harvest.

The ipm part is to take the beneficial bacteria and then make a compost tea and then spray as a foliar spray.
