Im fairly certain the cops arent paying out of pocket for chopper fuel lol. The govt has never been shy about wasting tax dollars. Ask all the ISIS guys driving around in the new hummers we delivered to them.

Cannabis can be easily seen with low flying choppers, all it takes for them is a few surrounding hints and a zoom optic that lead them along, however you dont want to fuck around indoor with flir lol

Choppers here routinley run thermal from tracking a car to bringing down a street level hoodie, at night they heavily rely on it. All this is recorded and screened and any house that is glowing bright red because of the heat from a house grow is logged and futher investigated. They dont need to search for weed growers they just pop up when their looking for other shit.
That said it is a well known fact on RiU that your average heating system will put out more heat than a 600watt so perfectly safe.

Dude that thermal reading is 102f or 38.9c and the ambient ground temperature is 72f or 22.2c. Vostoks shit is tight but that photo is far from the readings youd get from my 600watt if you thermalled my house...
Whos running grows and exhausts at 40degrees c anyway.

Yeah the ballast pic is kind of odd i guess, not sure how they would even get that pic? I wonder if they catch my hot air going into my attic since i live in a tropical no winter kind of area? Of course the room isnt 100f+ but my attic and the hot air venting out of it probably is because of positive pressure. Hell ive hit 110+ and damn near fried everything once when my hvac power supply went to shit

Its because I suspect those photos are all false. I know flir reasonably well and the reality in NZ anyway is that they don't use it to catch weed growers. Its not worth the expense to run a chopper, then that's not enough evidence to search, so an investigation has to start, so your talking serious money and man power being invested for a small grow. Just makes no sense and any cop will tell you the same thing.
I cant imagine any other country would be much different.
Flir is generally used to chase baddies down or missing people in the bush /sea etc.

Dude i got choppers thermalling the wall in front of my grow every few nights, most places in the uk have choppers for every area and they are an absolute nusciance. This one time i smashed a few things in benefit office and i had a chopper on me within five mins. To say they are efficient here in our small towns is an understatment.
Now if they can detect a 600watt hps grow then im pissing my self in laughter, my town must look like a bunch of fairy lights for all the growers around....

In the Uk you get a chopper on you for even minor crime and even though its £1000 an hour to keep one in the sky they will run them pretty much nonstop. There like flies here.
