One of my buddy has started using basalt in his mix recently and the plants seem to love it. Anyway i was wondering if i purchased some of the basalt from the mine if i just crushed it into fine dust would that work if so how would i go about crushing it? Mahalo

You probably need a commericial crusher unless you are a strong dude and can crush rock with your bare handz.. :)

But yes, Basalt rockdust is awesome. It is a staple of my amendments for sure.

You from 808? Let me get some rock dust LOL! I use a 2002 ram diesel to run over two metal planks with rock/shell in between them, then finish it off by hand.

But how are you gonna: A) crush it to a powder..? B) store it...? (keep it dry)

There actually is a guy who owns a rock crusher near by. Maybe i could store what i crushed in covered bins n leave the rest piled in the yard uncrushed. idk but i just bought a 5 lb bag of this stuff for 30 bucks when u include shipping on buildasoil, if its mined near me id rather take advantage of that. >
