Baked my plant for at least 4 hours...

basically several failures occurred and my poor marionberry k plant was in a closed fridge box w/ no ventilation for hours. I am just running 150ish watts of CFLs but they were very close to the plant and it lost all it's leaves except 2 new baby colas that had started low on a branch I supercropped early on. The 5 gallon pot itself was hot so I flushed the plant until I pulled all the heat from the soil. I cut back the branches (it was so perfect too sad) and left those 2 little starts and put it back under veg lights. Though the leaves were crumbly dry the branches I cut were still green/pliable. The plant had just been watered and the soil wasn't dry (though it was pretty warm.)

I so excited to get this plant into flower, started on 12/12 only 4 days ago after carefully supercropping for my first bonsai scog fridge shaped grow. What do you think- any chance she'll bounce back with some nursing? I bought her as a clone 6 weeks ago or so. I also thought about putting her outside.. would that increase the chances at all? Sad day in the garden.

Seen a lot of fridge grows, very stealthy

but yeah it can bounce back if properly cared for, I would not put it out side

I just had one I burnt the crap out of that has finally come back, took a few weeks

Yes but he said it was in there with no ventilation. It seems counter productive, and being surprised with the results is what gets me lol. But hopefully you can save them, worst you can do is try and fail.

Perhaps the fan failed? she didn't say why ?

haha well... the fridge is going to be converted to a grow box more legitimately but for lack of tools several cords go through the front door.. including the temp controller for the exhaust fan. I didn't plug it back in after turning the lights back on. Since I've just had everything going for a few days and I wanted to observe that it's working correctly I also have been leaving the door pretty open while the lights are on. The door swung close somehow AND I messed up the exhaust fan. If this happened any of the previous nights it probably would have been ok but you know how it goes.

haha yeah you got me there. I was really nervous this would happen..because it was a terrible setup. I put some autoflowers in the fridge for now and a kettlebell in front of the door HAHA. Feeling pretty safe that it's not closing now and I don't mess w/ the lights on the autoflower so less room for user error.

I knew something was wrong just by the smell before even opening the fridge. Lettuce soup. never knew baked weed could smell so bad

Thanks. There is a ton of potential in the fridge box if I can keep myself from screwing it up too badly! I'm always trying to level up w/ out the funds to support it. At least one more plant/weird scenario under my belt is better experience for next time.

Really? It seems like an ideal space to me. It already reflective white inside. I'm using one of the shelves from the fridge as a frame for my lights (which I can easily move up the fridge in 4" increments using the preexisting shelf slots) and the same slots hold my screen which I can also move to suit each grow.

That being said the reason why is that I had one already for free sitting around. I was thinking about building my growbox at the same time I'm staring at this dang fridge I need to take to the dump. seemed like a good idea and thn of course the internets and had so many fancy schmancy awesome looking examples. If you really think it's a terrible idea I'd rather be convinced now than learn the hard way after I've put some real effort into converting the fridge.

Got a friend that has grown in one for years, simply changes the set up a bit as they are insulated they hold heat as you just discovered

if you grow in a fridge you need air movement. fridges have 0 air movement lol. especially when kept closed. people try to do it to hide the smell i guess? it would be nice if you could drill holes in this fridge. One near the top for heat to escape from and one near the bottom on the opposite side for fresh cool air to come in. put a fan to blow the hot air out of the top hole and this will create new air coming in from the bottom hole. this will create and air flow through your grow space. which is a number 1 thing people should have. no new air, no air flow or movement creates moldy buds every time.

if you have proper air flow there's nothing wrong with using a fridge. like you said its already a shiny white on the inside and theres racks to hang lights and hold plants.
