Just fell onto this thread when I was looking at others Flood & Drain setups. I recently built a F&D table and have it all set up. Only thing I have left to do it find a "riser" of sorts to keep my net pots off the bottom of the tub. I built my F&D as a DIY so I used mixing tubs for trays vs a store bought table so I dont have the water channels in the bottom of my flood table. My question is if you have any suggestions for something I can use as a riser just to get the netpots about a 1/2" or so off the bottom of the table since after the drain, I still have maybe 1/4" of water standing on the bottom. I've seen others with grids that are exactly what I would need, but havent a clue as to where to get them? Any suggestions?

Hey Hydro,

Can you lift the "table" on the opposite end of your drain whole enough to allow the water to drain towards your drain whole/reservoir.

I could get a total drain if I angled the tub(s). Looking to get the netpots off the bottom more than angling the tubs for total drain. I'll be using (10) 6" pots with hydroton only, nothing in the tables -pots only. Heres a pic of my setup to show why I prefer to get something in the tables to elevate the pots like 1/4" or so. I would have to angle both of the tubs and not the table since my F&D spouts are on the inside edges of each of the flood trays and I run a pump/drain to each tray from the res.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Angle the table slightly towards the drain hole and that will be fine with hydroton as you will be flooding the table very frequently due to them not retaining much moisture anyway. A negligible amount of water left over won't effect your grow.

I've run pretty much every dro setup except for F&D and dont care to set myself up for failure.
I figure by the time canopy fills it shouldnt matter anyways....its just getting there with no issues.

I will say that if I ever rebuild a system like this, both of the F&D kits in the trays will be on the same side of the tray so I can tip the table instead of the individual trays. Hindsight is 20/20 though right? lol

Not practical for leaning table towards drain pipe.

If you like like flood and drain you will probably end up getting a large table.
I find the tables fairly priced.
Buy the table, build your stand.

You will love flood and drain.

Easy system.
