First time grower need advice

Ok so this is my very first grow.....
I have 9 plants and just want to make sure every thing is going well although I think I might have a few issues. I am growing out doors.
I read somewhere that bloodmeal helps with the N problem but, all I was able to find was jobes bloodmeal which should be mixed in with the soil can I dilute it in water and add it in with the grow more? If so how much and how often?

And could use some advise..

I got two sour diesels from a guy they were alread about two feet yet appeared stunted one looks to be doing ok as for the other one I'm not so sure the leaves are very small and very few. Also the tips keep turning brown and crunchy.

Next I have the white Widow
The leaves are bushy and mostly green although I am having the same issue with the tips as well there are yellowing leaves both old and new.

And one of the others has a few leaves that have tiny brown spots and brown edges that look as if they were eaten and burned.

And one of my babies looks to have some sort of bugs eatting at the leaves there are tiny blackish dots on some of the leaves almost like freckles.

Last but not least are my small ladies they are just simply small.



Soil: patio plus
15 gallon pots
Premium outdoor potting mix
I am using grow more 20-20-20 as fertilizer 5 cups per 30 gallons of water twice a week

you're going to have problems using blood meal only for a nitrogen supplement. it'll begin with lower leaves yellowing prematurely. get a good balanced fertilizer and don't overdo it.

the biggest mistake for new growers it over watering. i don't think you have that problem . looking good!!! GL

Right away I see overfertilization. 1 cup of 20-20-20 per gallon of water twice a week is way too much with that concentration. Using a balanced fertilizer is also not a good idea. It's great for watermelons, but not so good for cannabis.

In veg I use Age Old Grow. It's a 12-6-6 and I use 5-7 milliliters per gallon.
In flower I use Botanicare Pure Blend Pro for soil grows. It's a 1-4-5 concentration. I use maybe 8-10 ml per gallon and I don't necessarily use it every time I water. Some strains don't mind it every watering, but strains that are really sensitive to nutes get it every other watering. I also use mycorrhizal fungi with nearly every watering until the last 2 weeks and I also use liquid kelp every time I fertilize with the nutes during flower.

I grow indoors though and need fast acting liquid fertilizers. Outdoor plants have different needs and soil requirements since they are in the ground a lot longer than an indoor plant. Folks here who have more experience with outdoor soil grows will be able to offer some advice, I'm sure.

If you amend your soil properly you really shouldn't need to use any added ferts until you are more than half way through flowering.

Got it. My post was a typo. 1 cup per 5 gallons of 20-20-20 is still a little too much. Cannabis typically doesn't like heavy doses of nutes, although some strains have a higher tolerance than other. Again, I would also consider using a less balanced fertilizer. You will have a greater chance of nutrient lockup with a 20-20-20. Try something like the Age Old Grow I mentioned while the plants are vegging. Once they're into flower you will want to switch to a bloom mix that has minimal nitrogen.

Cool.... Thanks. So here's a question how do I flush the nutes and or should I? I noticed a claw effect on a few leaves.

i've used many different brands of nutes, liquid and granular. get a good balanced fertilizer, for example, Osmocote 14-14-14. they're all good, the main thing is don't let your plants get chlorotic leaves. with a little time you'll be able to read your plants' needs.

flush with plain water, use double the volume of the pot. ie: 5 gallon pot use 10 gallons of water. wait a couple/few days for the soil to dry out some then flush again. the next watering use ferts about 1/4 - 1/2 strength recommended on bottle. ditch them nutrients as previously mentioned and get something similar to what was posted. there are many brands of ferts out there. also a cheap moisture meter is a good investment for any new grower, probably less then $10 for one.

The plants in the first pic look happy to me.

The second pic the plant looks wilted like she badly needed water and the pot looks extremely dry. She also could use some Nitrogen. If she had not wilted from lack of water then there may be something more serious that is wrong.

a 1-1-1 fert will work for all stages but it is generally recommended that u use a fertilizer with a higher nitrogen ratio during veg and lower nitrogen during flower. I suggest Maxi-Gro and Maxi-Bloom from GH. They are very cheap and have everything marijuana plants need. You dont even need to supplement Ca/Mg unless you have a strain that really eats the micros. As long as the soil you are using is decent you shouldnt even have to worry about the PH when feeding, but you should feed very gently at first to see how they respond.

Over nukes jacks bloom is good and solvable in water. 10-30-20. Half dose. Mix some age old granule dry fruit in the soil for finish 2-10-20 Cal-mag will make the girls happy. Half dose each water. Just my thoughts. Should carry you through until the big harvest.

Thanks to all for the info.
So after I was told to flush them being new I had to find out how to do it the right way. The net is a great tool. So I did and cut back on the nutes and switched up the brew.. Things are going better, for the most part.

New Question... 100+ days. Should I water an extra day in the week or stick to simply twice a week?
Top soil drys quick but pots still feel pretty heavy.
